St. Louis Rams Off Season To Do List: Is Sam Bradford Joey Harrington 2.0?

St. Louis Rams off Season Check List
2011 Outcome (2-14)
The Rams were supposed to be taking a step forward this season. Bradford would be in year 2. Josh McDaniel’s was going to improve the offense. The OL would be strength and the defense would be a solid entity with a young promising HC leading it. Well Bradford regressed, McDaniels is showing to be a franchise destroyer, the OL was injured and under preformed, and the defense was a sieve. Now the Rams are starting over…again and are unsure if Bradford is Joey Harrington 2.0; Very talented but not the leader a franchise quarterback needs to be.
Coach Seat Temperature
The Rams are cleaning house with their GM and their coaching staff. This is wise since the drafts and FA have not gone well recently. It is essential the Rams get a good, young GM to run their franchise, look at what the Lions have done with Mayhew running the team. I hear Gene Smith and plenty of young and up and coming men taking the front running as well as Jeff Fischer’s name for HC. I think that’s a solid plan.
2011 Draft Class Rating (D)
This class has some talent but was filled with reaches. Robert Quinn looks to be an amazing pass rushing Defensive End but the rest of the draft was filled with system players such as Lance Kendricks, Austin Pettis, and Greg Salas. None of these players are special and are all depth players to me.
2010 Draft Class Rating (C)
This is a wait and see class that has some players who have talent but have not played up to it. Bradford is a talented QB but might not be a leader that this team needs. Rodger Saffold needs to move to RT since he does not have the athleticism to keep up with speed rushers. Jerome Murphy cannot stay healthy. The rest of the class has raw, yet talented players.
2009 Draft Class Rating (D+)
It is hard to have a good class when your first pick is a bust…especially picking 2nd overall. Jason Smith has failed at LT and RT and now is moving to OG…if he isn’t cut. James Lauriniatis is a Pro Bowl talented MLB. Bradley Fletcher is a very sound CB if he can stay healthy. The rest of the class was a miss.
