The 6-7, 295-pound Kalil redshirted as a freshman, sat behind Charles Brown in his second year and then started his final two years for the Trojans at left tackle.
It has long been rumored that Matt Kalil and Matt Barkley are a package deal, but there is no official word out yet about Barkley. Kalil is currently our number one rated tackle (and everyone else’s) and our third highest rated player. Kalil is a very good prospect, so good that he kept 2011 #9 overall pick, Tyron Smith at right tackle. Kalil isn’t a great technician at this point, but is upside is tremendous.
