Trio of Miami Hurricanes Make Their Declarations for 2012 NFL Draft

Well, it looks like the Miami Hurricanes might be losing more than just games.

In addition to the major distractions going on at “The U,” the team is just simply not getting it done on the field and now they are losing players before they probably should.

Defensive tackle Marcus Forston and wide receiver Tommy Streeter have declared their intent to forfeit their remaining eligibility and enter the 2012 NFL Draft. Receiver Aldarius Johnson, a former top recruit also declared himself eligible for the draft after being kicked off the team before the start of the season.

The most shocking of these names is Forston, who had a season-ending knee injury and hasn’t got any 2011 tape for scouts. His 2010 tape was promising but not great, so his leaving Miami is probably a lot about what was going on off the field as well, and it might just have been the smart idea to leave.

Streeter is an intriguing kid with size and speed, and huge hands that just engulf the ball. I think he has a ton of potential at the next level. Johnson might not even be drafted, but he might have the most talent of the group–talent unrealized. He was dismissed from the football program, and he will be allowed to work out at Miami’s pro day provided he graduates.

According to reports, Johnson is on track to do so, and he insists he has changed his ways. He has reportedly been working out all year and has cut a lot of weight to get into NFL shape at about 6’3″ 205 pounds.
