Who Moves Up Into the Top 10 If Half of the Underclassmen Who Are Top 10 Picks Return
By Editorial Staff
I could see 10 underclassmen projected to go in the top 10. 5 of those underclassmen Matt Kalil, Matt Barkley, Robert Griffin III, Trent Richardson and Luke Kuechly are all underclassmen and could all return. This means that Andrew Luck, Quinton Coples, Morris Claiborne, Jonathan Martin, and Justin Blackmon would all be top 5 talents. After those 5 picks every other player in the top 10 would be a major reach which would make getting a top 5 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft even that much more important.
Clemson defensive tackle Brandon Thompson would likely make a case to push himself into the top 10 if half of the projected top 10 picks. Thompson is a senior defensive tackle and the top defensive tackle that I have graded for the 2012 NFL Draft.
Riley Reiff of Iowa would be the second player to make this claim. Reiff would move up to Jonathan Martin’s spot with Matt Kalil returning.
Landry Jones draft stock would soar simply based on Matt Barkley and Robert Griffin III returning. One of those quarterbacks should leave. If both Barkley and Griffin return than Jones could surge up draft boards and become the top quarterback prospect after Andrew Luck.
Alshon Jeffery Wide Receiver South Carolina Jeffery would surge up to the #9 spot with an impressive combine,.
As much as you believe David DeCastro would be a reach in the top 10, I see this happening. Right guards rarely go in the top 10. DeCastro is so disciplined and you cannot really make the case for anyone else at this point.
