Start and Sit Fantasy Football Week 10

facebooktwitterreddit

Welcome to week 10 start and sit. I’m not inton wasting anybody’s time with telling you to start or sit the obvious. (Like start Aaron Rodgers and Adrian Peterson and sit Toby Gerhart). But I’ll throw out my opinion on some tougher calls.

Start:

Quarterback

Matt Cassel, Chiefs

The Broncos are giving up the most points in the league to fantasy quarterbacks. Nearly every quarterback they have faced has thrown for a tleast two touchdowns. Cassel had a really bad week in week 9, but I expect a big bounce back performance.

Mark Sanchez, New England

This is not about Sanchez as much as it is about how bad the New England defense has been all year. The Patriots defense stinks, Sanchez could have his best day of the season on Sunday night. I’d go with a better quarterback if you have it (you know Aaron Rodgers or something), but in a pinch I think Sanchez is worth the start.

Running Back

Michael Bush-I smell a big game for Michael Bush. Something along the lines of a 157 yards rushing and 85 yards receiving. I’d also bet that he kicks in a touchdown to boot.

(Thank god I actually did start him. I have a 29-6 lead today in my fansided league).

Willis Mcgahee, Denver Broncos

He’s approaching must start now. He’s having a career year. After averaging 4.1 yards per carry for his career, Mcgahee is over 5 yards per carry for the season. He’s only punched in three touchdowns, and a lot of his goal line carries to Tim Tebow, but Mcgahee is a good start tonight.

Wide Reciever

Laurent Robinson, Dallas

Miles Austin is out and the Bills defense is nothing special. They can’t rush the passer, and they give up a ton of yardage. Robinson might not be likely to catch a touchdown pass, but he could really rack up some yardage.

David Nelson, Buffalo Bills

I think Nelson is a sneaky good play this week and I’d start him. I really think the Buffalo Bills are going to bounce back after last weeks poor performane and rack up some serious yardage, especially through the air. The Cowboys don’t have the cornerbacks to cover both Steve Johnson and David Nelson. I think Nelson’s posied for a good game.

Victor Cruz, NYG

Keep an eye on this one. Mario Manningham was added to the injury report on Friday/Saturday and is no questionable for the game. Hakeem Nick is also questionable for the game. If one or both dont play Cruz is a good start.

Tight End

Jake Ballard, NYG

Ballard is on fire. In his last four games he has yardage totals of: 72, 81, 55, and 67. The 49ers have a really good run defense and hav edone a good job on wide receivers, but they aren’t great covering tight ends. Ballard could be a sneaky good play if you don’t have a top tight end or your best tight end is going to miss Sunday’s game (Dallas Clark).

Greg Olson, Panthers

The Titans defense is nothing special and Olson has had some good games this year, I think this is a week where he could put up a solid performance.

Defense

Sit

Quarterback

Josh Freeman, Buccaneers

Freeman has been too inconsistent this year. The Texans defense is actually good. The signing of Jonathan Joseph was one of the most underrated moves all off-season. I’m sitting Freeman in a game I think could be really bad for the Texans.

Andy Dalton Bengals

Dalton has played well this year and had a big week last week, but I’m not starting any rookie quarterback vs Dick Lebau and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Running Back

Brandon Jacobs

It’s definitely possible that the Giants could get to the Goal-line and Jacobs punches the ball in from the 1, that’s happend a lot this year, but I’m not banking on Jacobs scoring a lot of points for your fantasy team this weekend. I just sense a Giants clunker on Sunday. Sit ’em

Rashard Mendenhall

Here’s a keynumber: 2

The times that the Bengals have NOT had the leading rusher this year, and the Bengals aren’t that good of a rushing team. Willis Mcgahee had 101 rushing yards, and Maurice Jones Drew had 85, but other than that it’s been slim picking for teams looking to run on the Bengals. This defense is legitimate. Sit Mendenhall if you can.

DeAngelo Williams, Panthers

If you’re still playing Williams, yikes your running back situation must be bad. Sit him moving forward. He’s not getting any carries this year with all the competition for carries (Stewart and Newton)

Wide Receiver

Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona

It’s hard to sit Fitzgerald because of how talented he is, and any game he could go off, but the ONE thing the Eagles have consistently done well this year is takign away the oppositions number one wide receiver. The combination of Nnadmi Asmougha and Asante Samuel with their good pass rush has led to a lot of fantasy busts this year. If you can sit Fitzgerald consider it.

Nate Washington, Tennessee Titans

Washington has 10 yards, 34 yards, and 28 yards in his last three games. He’s not that good. The Panthers secondary isn’t great either, but I’m sitting Washington if I can.

Tight End

Vernon Davis

I’m nervous about what kind of performance the Giants will put forth tommorrow, but something they have done much better this year than in the past is stop opposing offenses tight ends. A big reason for that might be they don’t cover wide receivers well or stop the run all that well so there is no need to throw to the tight ends! Last week the Giants really did a good job on Gronkowski and Hernandez and with Brady that’s a better combination than Alex Smith and Vernon Davis.

Defense

Miami Dolphins

The Washington Redskins gave up 10 sacks to the Buffalo Bills, and the Dolphins are a better pass rushing team than the Bills. Start the Dolphins if you must in this weeks “who cares what happens game?” of the week!

Now here’s one for you guys. I have to choose between Steve Johnson, Antonio Brown, and Torrey Smith (Playing two). What do you think?
