Wisconsin RB Montee Ball is College Football’s Most Dominant Player
I have been waiting to make this proclamation for a while now, because over the course of the last season and a half, there has not been a more dominant college football player than Wisconsin running back Montee Ball. I feel like this post is becoming a broken record of sorts, because Ball literally does this on a weekly basis, but today against Minnesota, the Heisman candidate and unquestioned leader for the Doak Walker award ran for 166 yards and two touchdowns, and he also caught a touchdown pass.
For those keeping track, Ball has now accounted for 28 total touchdowns this season, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a lot of quarterbacks who even have that many right now.
Of course Ball is playing behind a talented offensive line, but he is averaging 6.6 yards per carry and the offensive line doesn’t do it all. You hear that Ball doesn’t have a great ability to cut or great quickness, but I disagree. His ability to find the hole, hit it, and just flat out move the chains is second to none right now in college football, if you ask me.
The guy is flat out unreal and he has a nose for the end zone like no other player I have seen in a while. I wanted to compare his huge season to that of Iowa running back Shonn Greene a couple of years ago, but it’s simply far more dominant.
We have a scouting report here on Ball and you can check it out as well as all of our other reports.
