After Andy Dalton saved me during Stafford’s bye week I dropped him. I do not need three QB’s but I would suggest to all of you; if you aren’t loaded at QB to pick him up. Dalton scores consistently week to week.
I was quick to the gun last week and was unable to acquire Michael Bush. As angry as I was Roy Helu had a good game. Told you he would play well but who knows what Shanahan will do this week. For acquisitions I struck gold. After dropping DaltonI was able to pick up Laurent Robinson. Robinson this season has 24 receptions, 368 yards, and 2 touchdowns. These numbers happened while he was the third receiver. Miles Austin will miss 2-4 weeks with a hamstring injury. When he comes back who knows if he will be 100 percent? Robinson has shown chemistry with Romo and the Cowboys have a string of favorable matchups in the coming weeks. He is a must pick up…I mean now, stop reading and pick him up.
Starters
I won without Matthew Stafford and I have the Red Headed Horn Frog to thank for that. Now, it is back to business. Stafford is on pace for ridiculous numbers. He has harder matchups in the second half but should be a solid contributor. This week he goes into Chicago and will try to have the success he had back in week 5. Bears are giving up the 12th most points to QB’s but lately have been more stingy, as example of shutting Vick down last week.
At RB I am starting Ray Rice at Seattle. Rice had another strong game versus the Steelers and from this point on is bench-proof. That being said the Seahawks are very strong against the run and Rice has not been able to do well away from home. I expect solid contribution but nothing elite.
Why is McFadden hurt again????? Why was I unable to get Michael Bush???? That being said Ben Tate has been a hit and miss RB. As a backup he has produced starter numbers. He does not see consistent carries however. I have three options for my second RB. Tate does not start but gets to play the Buccaneers who are giving up the 6th most points to RB’s. I can play Marshawn Lynch who has a horrible matchup at home versus the Ravens. Or I could play Roy Helu who plays a tough Miami Dolphins run defense. I think I go with matchup and talent with Tate. He has posted over 100 yards 2 of the last 3 weeks.
Wes Welker is playing at the Jets this week. I never recommend playing anyone against the Jets except Welker. Welker can move around and get away from Revis. Now his numbers will be below average but Welker is bench-proof as well.
Steve Johnson is not a great play this week. I liked that fact he had 80 yards on Revis. I am forced to play him at Dallas this week. Cowboys are giving up the 27th most points to WR’s but I am not playing Reggie Wayne or Deion Branch unless I have to. And I don’t.
Recently acquired Laurent Robinson has a good matchup this week. Bills are a middle of the pack pass defense and I think Robinson will be a focus in the game. I expect a 5-7 reception, 80-90 yards, and a TD.
TE Jimmy Graham’s numbers have gone down since Marques Colstone has been healthy. He is still producing but at a lowered rate. The Falcons are very strong against other TE’s. They have given up the 26th most points to opposing TE’s. Still Graham is the top performing TE and Drew Brees makes him bench-proof.
Jordy Nelson is a stud. I know he has some down games due to the amount of weapons the Packers have but Nelson is his 2nd option. Vikings are giving up the 5th most points to opposing WR’s so I expect a big day from Nelson.
Dan Bailey has been a solid acquisition at kicker. It proves you should wait until the last round to select a kicker. Buffalohas given up the 30th most points to opposing kickers but their defense has been underperforming lately. WithDallas having trouble in the red zone he is a must start.
Cowboys’ defense plays the Buffalo Bills at home. I have a lot of Cowboys now but so what? Bills are not giving up many points to opposing defenses. They are able pass protectors and Fitzpatrick doesn’t throw a ton of Int’s. That being said the Cowboys are able to get under anyone’s skin and should be a solid play this week.
Foe:
Sun Tzu states, “Know thy enemy.” My enemy is my personal trainer friend. He should spend less time lifting weights and consuming protein and more time rounding out his roster. He has a 3-6 record but has 5 straight losses. Come on Breh.
At QB he has Michael Vick who has struggled to replicate last season. He playsArizonathis week so he should have a big game. At RB he is starting Peyton Hillis and Mark Ingram so nothing to worry about….in fact are either of them even playing? Starting WR’s are Larry Fitzgerald who should be contained by the Eagles, Plaxico Burress who plays the Patriots and should post okay numbers, and Nate Burleson who has been very quiet as of late. He is starting Todd Heap at TE and Brandon Pettigrew at Utility????? Wow two starting TE’s on his roster? He is strong at K/Def with David Akers and the Steelers defense.
Prediction:
Yahoo predicts an easy win for me. I will not even take pleasure beating this bye week opponent. In fact I am going to pay it forward and try to Personally Train his fantasy team back to life. Anyways a win is a win and it goes to show you the old adage, “Everyone can’t be good or there would be no good, only average.”
