2012 NFL Mock Draft Update: Colts Still NFL’s Worst
17. San Diego Chargers: Alamada Ta’amu, DT, Washington
Powerful nose tackle prospect who could be a force in the middle for the Chargers, opening up lanes for pass rushers.
18. Cincinnati Bengals: Lamar Miller, RB, Miami
Miller is extremely talented and productive for a young guy, he could be a top tier playmaker for years.
19. Chicago Bears: David DeCastro, OL, Stanford
Help keep Jay Cutler upright should be the goal of this draft for Chicago.
20. Cleveland Browns: Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma
Surprised? Maybe, but the Browns seem to be losing faith in Colt McCoy every week.
21. New England Patriots: Vinny Curry, DE/OLB, Marshall
Curry has elite pass rush skills and is a great value for the Pats at this juncture of the draft.
22. New York Jets: Cordy Glenn, OL, Georgia
Big, powerful offensive lineman who fits the Jets’ power scheme.
23. Buffalo Bills: Brandon Jenkins, DE/OLB, Florida State
Hybrid pass rusher who is improving in run support as well. Has the whole package, just needs consistency.
24. Houston Texans: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
Top notch possession receiver with big play ability to pair with Andre Johnson. Merry Christmas, Matt Schaub.
25. New England Patriots: Chase Minnifield, CB, Virginia
Big, rangy cover corner with loads of talent. Solid tackler and pairs back with former teammate Ras-I Dowling.
26. Pittsburgh Steelers: Kelechi Osemele, OL, Iowa State
Another powerful offensive lineman who can play guard or right tackle for the Steelers.
27. New York Giants: Jerel Worthy, DL, Michigan State
Great value here, a guy who will add depth to the Giants’ defensive tackle position.
28. Cincinnati Bengals: Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina
Excellent cover corner with tackling ability. Gilmore replaces the void left by Jonathan Joseph.
29. Detroit Lions: Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College
Kuechly is instinctive and just flat out nasty. He will fit perfectly with the Lions.
30. San Francisco 49ers: Courtney Upshaw, DE/LB, Alabama
Adding this type of pass rusher to a mix that already includes Aldon Smith, Justin Smith, Patrick Willis, and Navorro Bowman is scary.
31. Baltimore Ravens: Dont’a Hightower, LB, Alabama
Big linebacker prospect who would theoretically take over for Ray Lewis whenever he chooses to call it a career.
32. Green Bay Packers: Brandon Thompson, DL, Clemson
Excellent value this late in the first round with a big defensive lineman with immense potential.
