Round 2

33. Indianapolis Colts 0-7 Kevin Zeitler Right Guard Wisconsin Senior The Colts need to get a right guard.  Kevin Zeitler is the best right guard available.

34. Miami Dolphins 0-6 Dwayne Allen Tight End Clemson Senior Redshirt The Dolphins use this draft pick to build around their offense with Matt Barkley at quarterback.

35. St. Louis Rams 0-6 Ronnell Lewis Left Outside Linebacker Oklahoma Junior The Rams could use a left outside linebacker for their 4-3 defense.  Ronnell Lewis provides good value here.

36. Minnesota Vikings 1-6 Travis Lewis Right Outside Linebacker Oklahoma Senior Redshirt The Vikings could really use a weak side linebacker for their 4-3 defense.  Lewis is arguably the top player available at this point.

37. Philadelphia Eagles from Arizona Cardinals 1-5 Jerel Worthy Defensive Tackle Michigan State Junior Redshirt The Eagles use this pick on the best available player that could address a need.  Worthy could add some depth to the defensive line.

38. Carolina Panthers 2-5 Cliff Harris Cornerback Oregon Junior The Carolina Panthers use this pick to add a cornerback to the roster.

39. Jacksonville Jaguars 2-5 Desmond Trufant Cornerback Washington Junior The Jaguars will need a #2 cornerback to pair up with Rashean Mathis.

40. Kansas City Chiefs from Philadelphia Eagles 2-4 Ryan Broyles Wide Receiver Oklahoma Senior Redshirt Dwayne Bowe could jump ship as a free agent.  Broyles may be the best player available at this point.

Kansas City could pair a route runner like Ryan Broyles with Jonathan Baldwin in Kansas City.

41. Denver Broncos 2-4 Mohammed Sanu Wide Receiver Rutgers Junior The Denver Broncos add a wide receiver for Tebow to throw to now that Brandon Loyd is gone.  Mohamed Sanu is one of the top player available.  I see more in Sanu then I do in Broyles so this pick could end up benefitting the Denver Broncos.

42. Seattle Seahawks 2-4 Mark Barron Strong Safety Alabama Senior The Seattle Seahawks could use a strong safety for depth.  Mark Barron is the best player available.

43. Washington Redskins 3-3 Nico Johnson 3-4 Middle Linebacker Alabama Junior The Redskins could use 2 starters at 3-4 middle linebacker.  It would not shock me if the Redskins double dipped at linebacker only to take a quarterback in 2013.

44. Tennessee Titans 3-3 Marvin McNutt Wide Receiver Iowa Senior Redshirt The Titans will need a #2 receiver to play across from Britt.  Nate Washington clearly isn’t the answer long term.

45. Cleveland Browns 3-3 Montee Ball Running Back Wisconsin Junior Peyton Hillis may not resign a long term deal in Cleveland.  There is talk that Hillis will pull a Lebron James leaving Cleveland.  Montee Ball would be a good back available with this selection.  Ball has had 35 rushing touchdowns over the last 2 seasons at Wisconsin.

46. Kansas City Chiefs 3-3 TJ McDonald Free Safety USC Junior The Chiefs could use a free safety to pair up next to Eric Berry.

47. Dallas Cowboys 3-3 Nate Potter Left Guard Boise State Senior Redshirt The Cowboys use this pick to add an interior offensive lineman to their roster.

48. Atlanta Falcons 4-3 Mike Adams Left Tackle Ohio State Senior The Atlanta Falcons use this pick to add a left tackle who can challenge Sam Baker for the starting left tackle job.

49. Chicago Bears 4-3 Eddie Whitley Free Safety Virginia Tech Senior The Bears need a free safety.  Whitley is the best player available if he falls to round 2.

50. New England Patriots from Oakland Raiders 4-3 Kheeston Randall Defensive Tackle Texas Senior Randall can be used as a 4-3 defensive tackle and he has the ability to play anywhere in a 3-4 scheme.  The Patriots need a defensive lineman with Randall’s versatility.

51. New York Jets 4-3 Chase Thomas 3-4 Right Outside Linebacker Stanford Junior Redshirt Chase Thomas has helped Stanford rank in the top 5 in sacks and run stuffing with Shayne Skov out.

52. Baltimore Ravens 4-2 Ray Ray Armstong Strong Safety Miami Junior The Ravens need a strong safety for depth now that Dawan Landry is gone.

53. Houston Texans 4-3 Devin Taylor 3-4 Left Outside Linebacker South Carolina Junior Redshirt The Texans will get a 3-4 outside linebacker to compete against Brooks Reid to be the top pass rusher who starts next to Mario Williams.

54. Tennessee Titans from Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4-3 Michael Egnew Tight End Missouri Senior The Titans will need a tight end to compete with Craig Stevens for the starting job.  Michael Egnew provides nice value at #54.

55. New York Giants 4-2 Tydreke Powell Defensive Tackle North Carolina Senior The Giants could afford to add another defensive tackle for depth.  Tydreke Powell is the best player available.

56. Cincinnati Bengals 4-2 Elvis Fisher Left Tackle Missouri Senior Redshirt The Bengals use this pick to add a left tackle for depth.  Elvis Fisher was Blaine Gabbert’s blindside at Missouri.

57. San Diego Chargers 4-2 Donte Paige Moss 3-4 Left Outside Linebacker North Carolina Junior The Chargers double dip at pass rusher and get another pass rusher behind Shaun Phillips for depth.

58. Buffalo Bills 4-2 Vinny Curry 3-4 Left Outside Linebacker Marshall Senior The Bills need a 3-4 left outside linebacker to play next to Shawn Merriman.  Vinny Curry is 2nd in the nation with 9.5 sacks.

59. New Orleans Saints 5-2 Ryan Tannehill Quarterback Texas A&M Senior Redshirt There are only 2 2nd round talents left those players are Ryan Tannehill and Kirk Cousins.  The Saints could use a successor to Drew Brees.  Ryan Tannehill provides amazing value at this point.

60. Detroit Lions 5-2 Kirk Cousins Quarterback Michigan State Senior Redshirt The Lions always take the best available player.  Stafford is their guy for the present and the future the Lions do not need a quarterback.  Its foolish for me to project a quarterback here.  I just have the Lions taking the only 2nd round talent left on my draft board because the Lions make controversial picks by taking the best player available.

Maybe the Lions can develop Cousins like the Eagles did with Kevin Kolb and trade him when the time comes.

61. Pittsburgh Steelers 5-2 Alameda Ta’amu Nose Tackle Washington Senior The Steelers use this pick on a nose tackle who can split reps with Casey Hampton eventually becoming his successor in Pittsburgh.

62. Baltimore Ravens from San Francisco 49ers 5-1 Jeff Fuller Wide Receiver Texas A&M Senior The Ravens give Flacco another weapon to work with.

63. New England Patriots 5-1 Janoris Jenkins Cornerback Northern Alabama Senior The Patriots always take a corner in the first 2 rounds.  Bill Belicheck likes drafting former Florida Gators.  He will take  a flyer on Janoris Jenkins if he slides this far.

Janoris Jenkins was involved in a punching incident at Northern Alabama after getting kicked off of Florida’s football team.  That’s the only reason he has been sliding this far.

64. Green Bay Packers 7-0 Whitney Mercilus 3-4 Right Outside Linebacker Illinois Junior Mercilus is 6 foot 4 265 pounds.  Mercilus leads the nation with 10 sacks and can be used as a run stuffer.  Green Bay should consider drafting Mercilus if he is available in the late 2nd round.
