Heisman Watch Week Eight: Trent Richardson Closing the Gap
1. Robert Griffin III, Quarterback, Baylor
Griffin is still dominating, but his team needs to start winning. He’s still completed 78 percent of his passes with 22 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He is such an impressive athlete but he’s not quite dominating like he was in the early portion of the season.
He IS human, folks.
2. Trent Richardson, Running Back, Alabama
Richardson is an absolute stud, and arguably the best player in all of college football right now. He made Mississippi look like a group of Boy Scouts, rushing for 183 yards and four touchdowns. He is having a huge season with 16 total touchdowns and Alabama is poised to be undefeated when they play LSU thanks to his running.
3. Andrew Luck, Quarterback, Stanford
Everything just looks so easy for Luck right now. He is a dominant player who makes great decisions, and because he is so good at quarterback, people forget how good of an athlete he is. He has 19 total touchdowns this season and is proving to the world why he is a lock to be the top pick in the draft.
4. Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Wisconsin
Wilson was up to his usual tricks on Saturday, but this time he CAUGHT a touchdown pass in addition to making great decisions passing the ball. He’s got 17 total touchdowns and has Wisconsin looking like the best team in the Big Ten by far. Can he keep up this kind of play against the stout defense he will face in Michigan State?
5. Kellen Moore, Quarterback, Boise State
Moore carved up Colorado State to the tune of 338 yards, four touchdowns, and 86.7 percent completion percentage. He has thrown for 1,729 yards and 21 touchdowns after losing both Titus Young and Austin Pettis to the NFL, which is extremely impressive. It’s nice to have a guy like Doug Martin out of the backfield as well.
