Updated: the love for Cousins is up quite a bit and he could go as high as the 2nd or 3rd round.
Update:
Talk about Cousins going in the first round. I just don’t get it!
Updated:
Even though Reggie (a die-hard Spartans fan by the way) does not love Cousins he finished the season strong and has impressed in the pre-draft process through the Senior bowl and the buzz is that he is a 2nd or 3rd round pick now.
But why? What is cousins’ huge desirable aspect that makes him a day two pick and puts him head and shoulders above the other quarterbacks? I’ve missed it. He seems like a game manager in the N.F.L.
Summary:
Cousins has been part of a MSU team that has been to a Bowl Game every year that he has started. He was part of an 11 win Co-Big Ten Champs team. So why do I have him so low? Attitude. Physically, he has the tools to be an NFL QB. What he lacks is a killer instinct. There are leaders off the field and on the field. He is the former. He is a great kid and a great example for other players. Problem is he is too “Goody too shoes”. Football players will not follow this kid into Hell. He is the type of player that probably says Ahh Shucks after a loss. I love the kid as a person, but not as a NFL QB prospect. He performs horrible in big games and on the Road. As a backup he can make it in the NFL. Just like Todd Collins he can make a nitch out of that. As a starter….no chance.
