Transactions:

This week the Tennessee Titans have a bye week so I was stuck without a kicker.  Normally I wouldn’t care but after losing last week I do not want to give up points, also Rob Bironas has not done much.  I picked up Dallas Cowboy kicker Dan Bailey and dropped Rob Bironas.  Bailey has scored more points than Bironas, plays on a better offense, and has had his bye week already.  I am still looking for RB depth but have been slightly encouraged by Marshawn Lynch’s production the past two weeks.  I am alarmed to see Ben Tate being injured and Steven Ridley losing touches to BJG.  I can not afford any injuries to Ray Rice or Darren McFadden.

Starters

Matthew Stafford is the reason for my success.  He has a tough matchup versus the 49ers this week. Staffordis playing at home and will get plenty of action since the running game will likely be ineffective.  I think the 49ers have a good pass rush but their secondary has not been tested by this kind of passing attack yet.  I think a moderately effective game with the likes of 240-250 yards and 2 touchdowns is a reasonable expectation.

Ray Rice and Darren McFadden are the backbone of my team.  Rice and McFadden will give me a chance to win every week.  Rice is back from the bye but faces a tough Houston Texan defense.  The Texans stuffed Darren McFadden last week and I hope they do not do the same to Rice.  Houston Texans are giving up the 28th most fantasy points to RB’s so I cannot expect much from Rice.  50-60 yards rushing and I am not expecting a touchdown.  I am praying he takes over in the passing game.

McFadden plays the Cleveland Browns at home.  After a down week last week I am expecting an explosion this week.  Browns are only giving up the 25th most points to RB’s but I think that number will lower after this week.  I am counting on 140 total yards and 1-2 touchdowns.

Steve Johnson plays at New York Giants.  His numbers have been down the past two weeks and is on thin ice for me to be an automatic start.  He has a favorable matchup so I want at least 70-80 yards and a touchdown.  Deion Branch is breathing down his throat.

Wes Welker in a PPR league is dynamite.  I was harassed for drafting him in round 4 but I thought I was getting a steal.  Fantasy drafting 101…do not have one big board for all formats…know your scoring format.  Welker was not even contained byReevisIsland. Now he plays the Dallas Cowboys at home.  Welker will go off once again versus the likes of Newman and Jenkins for the tune of over 100 yards and a touchdown.

Reggie Wayne has struggled this season.  There is some hope though.  Curtis Painter has had decent success though.  He seems to favor Garcon but still is targetingWayneoften.  Bengals have not given up much fantasy points and I do not expect that to change this week.  I am hoping for around 70-80 yards receiving.

At TE Jimmy Graham is what we thought he would be…. A monster.  His statistics are right in line with the top WR’s in his position…a feat only Antonio Gates has done recently.  He is on pace for around 100 receptions!!!!    This week he plays at TampaBay.  The Buccs have given up the 7th most points to TE’s this season.  Graham is my forth leading scorer on my team and I expect another 100 yards and 1 touchdown game…..can anyone stop this kid?

For my utility it goes to the up and down Jordy Nelson.  It is always hard to predict what he will do, due to the number of weapons the Packers have.  He plays the Rams at home.  When I see the Rams on anyone’s schedule at this points in time I start them.  I think 70 yards and a touchdown is reasonable.

Time to try out my new kicker and let him stretch his legs…anyways I think the Cowboys can score some points versus the Patriots and the weather is still reasonable so I think a ten point day is possible.

Neither the Cowboys nor the Texans have favorable matchups.  Plus the Texans lost Mario Williams for the season…but I will take them over anyone playing the Patriots.  I guess I will hope and pray for some points.

Foe:

Sun Tzu states, “Know thy enemy.”  My enemy is my brother in law and as future leaders of my family it will be decided in Fantasy Football.  I think it is important that each family member know that at some point in time I could just destroy them….maintains the alpha male status.  I am sorry Brad…it is your week to find this out.

His starting lineup doesn’t look horrible at first glance.  He has Ben Roethlisberger at QB.  At RB he is starting Arlon Foster and Cedric Benson.  WR trio of DeSean Jackson, Dez Bryant, and Braylon Edwards.  TE is Tony Gonzalez and utility player is Darren Sproles.  K/Def is Gostkowski and the Buccaneers.  Very strong lineup.

I am a bit humbled after last week I was defeated by the winless Green Hornets, however, none of my players showed up and I am hoping with numerous inspirational speeches and movie watching that a rebound is happening.  Pussycats are about to get spade.

Prediction:

Even Yahoo believes I will destroy my opponent.  While I am not as confident I do think I will win.  I have a stronger lineup but he has some players capable of going off big time.  A win would get me to 5-1 and get the blood out of the water.
