NFL Mocks is Looking for New Writers
We here at NFLmocks are all football all the time, the problem is there is so much to talk about in football: NFL game reviews, College games, the N.F.L draft, Scouting reports, Mock drafts, College Football recruiting, Fantasy Football, and anything else that is football related that we never feel we have enough talent to cover all that we want to cover.
That’s why we’re opening up the opportunity for anyone interested out there in having a place to share their thoughts to the world on a site that has thousands of daily readers. Unfortunately, it would still be an unpaid position, but it does have some perks. First NFLmocks is apart of the fansided community, which is a sports community that has over a 130 different sports pages, at least one for every team in every major sport. Fansided NFL pages have well over a million unique visitors to their web sites each and every month. The exposure is excellent for people with a passion for football who just want to get their voices out there.
Writing for NFLmocks also provides opportunities for you to move into an editor role at fansided which is a paid position. From time to time web pages need new editors. An editor of a fansided page is an excellent opportunity. Fansided owns the right to the domain name for the web page, but there is almost total freedom to do what you want with the page at no cost to you. Fansided also splits the revenue generated by your page with you, which could be a great opportunity if the page ever explodes. Other than that, NFLMocks is a great opportunity for you to practice your writing ability for young aspiring writers.
Some Fansided writers have gotten other perks as well: some have been hired away from fansided pages by other major outlets (even ESPN hired one writer from a baseball page), SB Nation, Bleacherreport and a host of other website have hired Fansided writers.
Other fansided writers, those who post frequently and earn the turst of the fansided directors can get press passes to events. NFLmocks personally will almost assuredly be sending someone to cover the N.F.L. draft this year, if I can’t go. You might also be able to get press passes for training camps, and hopefully this year we we’ll also be sending someone to the combine.
Above all, the most important perk is being apart of something that is growing daily, weekly, monthly. From January 1st 2010 to September 26 2010, and from January 1st 2011 to September 26, 2011 NFLmocks visits are up 186%, Page views are up 228%.
And over the past here we have been linked by major web sites ESPN included. This is a site that is on the way up and little is as satisfying as being apart of something from near the beginning that becomes huge.

Here’s what we’re looking for.
Motivated writers. We only require two post a week, but if you can find the time to do even more than twice a week that would be excellent.
–People interested in writing scouting reports, we have a basic structure we want to employ for scouting reports, but there is a lot of freedom in scouting reports. We hope to have 200+ scouting reports written this year. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
This is our number one goal.
-People who are interested in writing about fantasy football. We all love fantasy football, but we have so much else to cover that Fantasy Football often gets pushed to the side.
-Mock drafts are a staple of NFLmocks. Those are always appreciated.
-On Wednesdays and Thursdays we like to focus on the New York Giants and Denver Broncos and how it relates to the N.F.L. draft. If you’re a fan of either of those teams that would also be great.
-College Football recruiting. Is your thing College Football recruiting. We never have enough of that.
-College Football game previews/reviews/thoughts Etc.
-It’s better to have a great grasp of the English language and plus writing skills, but being motivated is more important to us. We’ll help you get where you want.
-All materials MUST be original, anything paraphrased or quoted must be cited, and All stats must be correct. That is a foundation of this page. Opinions are welcomed, but don’t write “facts that aren’t facts”.
-Lastly, if you want to make prospect highlight videos because you’re tech savvy that is something we want to expand on, but we haven’t been able to find the right guy.
