Fantasy Football: Start and Sit: Injury Roundup. Antonio Gates, Peyton Hillis out.
Fantasy Football Start and sit.
First let’s start with some big names who are going to be out for Sunday.
Antonio Gates is Not expected to play. (Don’t start any other SD tight end). This is not going to matter much for the Chargers who should beat the Chiefs pretty easily with our without Gates. But it could effect the spread (between 14-17 points) and your fantasy football team.
Peyton Hillis will likely not play. He has step throat according to profootballtalk.com. The Dolphins aren’t that good, but their front seven isn’t terrible. It could be a rough game for the Browns. You could start Montario Hardesty, I’d go in a different direction if possible.
Mario Manningham is out. This moves Victor Cruz to the #2 WR, Brandon Stokley is the #3 (Don’t start either)
Arian Foster is not going to play. Ben Tate will get the Lion share of carries (start and expect decent numbers)
Steve Jackson is NOT expected to play. Cadillac Williams is his backup. (Don’t Start)
Beanie wells Expects to play, BUT monitior that right up to the minute. Players are notrious for saying they are ready only to be ruled out by their team’s doctors/coaches.
Felix Jones will have a “touches limit” IF he plays. (Don’t start). Dez Bryant was limited Monday night and will probably play (tough call. If you have a guy who can play in his place on Monday night if he doens’t go like Santana Moss I’d start him. If you don’t. I sit him and take the guranteed points). Miles Austin is out (obviously).
Washington defense might look like a good start this week, especially if Jon Kitna ends up playing. Who’s that leave on the Dallas offense? Tashard Choice, Jason Witten, and a banged up Dez Bryant? The Redskins defense isn’t bad anyway and they have a good return man in Brandon Banks and DeAngelo Hall is always a possibility for a pick six (or giving up a long touchdown).
Now let’s go to what I have to decide between in my two fantasy leagues.
First in my nflmocks, at quarterback I have Matthew Stafford and Matt Schuab. Stafford will take on the Vikings in Minnesota and Schuab will take on the Saints in New Orleans
I’m going to one more time start Schuab over Matthew Stafford. It’s burned me two weeks in a row, but the Saints defense has been awful in the last few games it’s played. The Saints offense can also put up big points and the Texans might have to play keep up. I’m nervous about this one because I think Stafford will be solid, but one more time I’ll ride with Schuab over Stafford. Don’t let me down.
My running backs are Fred Jackson and Chris Johnson both obvious starts so I’m not touching them there.
Hakeem Nicks is my top WR.
This one worries me. With how banged up the Giants are, Nicks could have a tough day. I’m sure Asmougha will shadow him, and if not Asmougha he has Samuel on him and Manning loves throwing the ball to Asante Samuel. Still Hakeem Nicks is not only my top WR on my team, but one of my favorite players to watch.
If I don’t start Nicks I’d go with Dez Bryant or Jacoby Jones. I’m starting Nicks though, even though it scares me a bit. He’s a S-T-U-D
Vincent Jackson is my other WR. He’s an obvious start vs the Chiefs.
At TE I have Dustin Keller who’s had a hot start of the season and who’s going up against the Oakland Raiders who don’t have a great pass defense. I also have Aaron Hernadnez who is out for awhile. Keller is an easy call.
I have two flex plays.
I have a WR/RB flex and a WR/TE Flex.
The rest of my players are: Pierre Thomas, Dez Bryant, Jacoby Jones, Mike Williams, Aaron Hernandez, and Ben Tate.
Ben Tate is getting one of the flex plays.
The other flex is going to Dez Bryant. I just hope he can play. I like to play Addai, but he’s had a very rough season and I fully expect the Steelers to run all over the Colts and thus greatly limiting Addai’s value.
