Round 2

1. Seattle Seahawks                   Alfonzo Dennard       CB           Nebraska

Round 1 Andrew Luck gave them a franchise QB, now in round two Dennard will team with Earl Thomas to start improving the defense.

2. Indianapolis Colts              Lamar Miller             RB           Miami

Colts have their future LT and with no remaining QB I trust they get a dominate RB to team with Carter.  It just isn’t a draft if the Colts do not take a RB.  Miller actually is a good pick though.

3. Kansas City Chiefs                Xavier Nixon             OT            Florida

Franchise QB was acquired in round 1.  Now the Chiefs protect him with the fast rising Nixon.  Chief’s offense will get back Charles and might move up in the standings in 2012 if Haley is no longer present.

4. Miami Dolphins                  Matt Reynolds           OT            BYU

I love Reynolds physicality and believe that he is one of the most under rated OL talents in this draft.  He will put his immense size to work filling this huge hole at RT.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars           Mohammed Sanu    WR           Rutgers

See I told you it was much harder to get a dominate DE than a good #1 WR.  Sanu is versatile and is under valued due to the fact he has played on Rutgers…get used to it because now you play in Jacksonville.

6. Denver Broncos                     Chris Polk                                RB           Washington

Knowshon Moreno and Willis McGahee are not the type of running backs that get you an elite run game.  Fox wants and elite run game and after selecting Martin in Round 1 he gets a first round talent at RB in Chris Polk in round 2.  Now that defensive line….

7. Cleveland Browns                  Kelechi Osemele       OG           Iowa State

Browns OG position is in dire straights.  Eric Steinbach is aging and Lavuono has not been what the Browns thought he would be.  Even RT is a hole…now Jason Pinkston should claim one of the OG spots and Osemele would fill the other or RT.  Either way the Browns need OL help.

8. Carolina Panthers                  Morris Claiborne      CB           LSU

Whoops….Claiborne will probably not be here, but much higher.  However, this year there are a ton of talented CB’s in the draft.  Claiborne would be just what the Panthers need most….a shut down, play making CB.

9. Minnesota Vikings                Brandon Thompson  DT            Clemson

Vikings DL needs to restore and replace talent that is fleeing their team.  Brandon Thompson would help fill the void left by half the Williams wall retiring.  Strong versus the run and solid in pass rushing.  His leadership and intelligence would be welcome on this team.

10. Cincinnati Bengals              Ray Ray Armstrong   SS            Miami

Bengals have Reggie Nelson and Chris Crocker playing safety.  Robert Sands has potential but is year or two at least from contributing.  Armstrong would give the Bengals one good safety.  Armstrong and Hall give the Bengals half of a good secondary.

11. St. Louis Rams                      Travis Lewis             OLB         Oklahoma

Laurinaitis seems all alone on this LB unit.  He has no help and the Rams need to start focusing on the defense that lacks DT, OLB, and secondary skill.  Travis Lewis is just returning from injury but once he is up and running we will see the all around talent he has.

12. San Francisco 49ers           Cliff Harris                               CB           Oregon

Cliff Harris and Robert Lester gives this 49ers secondary some teeth.  49ers biggest hole going into this draft was the secondary.  Not anymore, now we need to focus on the offense.

13. New York Giants             Michael Egnew          TE            Missouri

Manning misses his 3rd down targets Smith and Boss.  Egnew would give Manning a security blanket.  Manning cannot sleep well without his binky it seems.

14. Tennessee Titans                Ryan Broyles            WR           Oklahoma

Broyles had a rough day against the FSU secondary.  However, his body of work is excellent.  Britt is showing he can be a #1 WR but he needs an underneath running mate.  This is a nice combination for Locker.

15. New England Pats (T)       Juron Criner            WR           Arizona

Patriots, at the moment, are set at skill positions but Branch and Welker are aging and it is nice to replace stars before they are gone.  Criner will flourish on this kind of spread offense.  Patriots need to keep the passing game up and running and this should help.

16. Tampa Bay Bucaneers               Andrew Datko           OT            FSU

Datko played solid versus Oklahoma but did give up a sack.  Datko is a sound pass protector but is more known for his run blocking.  He will help the Buccs start to reload their OL…starting with RT.

17. Washington Redskins       Ryan Miller                               OG           Colorado

Zone protection schemes require athletic big men.  Miller has the ability to succeed in this kind of format.  Known for his athletic ability he should be able to step right in at OG or play RT if needed to.  OL is the Redskins biggest area of need.

18. Dallas Cowboys                   Janoris Jenkins        CB           Northern Alabama

Cowboys would be the team to look past substance abuse.  I have heard some alarming information on this prospect in that regard and it drops him in my draft.  It is too bad since I believe him to be the best CB in this draft.  Cowboys’ defense is really coming together now.

19. Buffalo Bills                     Levy Adcock            OT            Oklahoma State

Bills OL is playing well so far this season.  I do not think it will last for very long.  There is talent in Eric Woods, Andy Levitre, and Duanne Bell.  This unit could still use upgrades at RT and RG….Adcock can play both positions very well.  Bills OL gets a huge upgrade.

20. Chicago Bears                      Jeff Fuller                 WR           Texas AM

Bears need some more help on offense.  OL still needs help but Jeff Fuller is a steal and gives the Bears some size in the receiving core.  Fuller could be a true number 1 WR and give Cutler a sound skill set to work with.

21. Philadelphia Eagles (T)    Sean Spence             OLB         Miami

Eagles LB core now appears to be a strength.  Spence needs to learn gap responsibility more as he appears to play out of control occasionally…though his speed and reaction time allows him to get away with it, at least in college.  Pros are different, ask Ernie Simms.

22. Houston Texans                   Dwight Jones           WR           ND

An under rated WR would give the Texans a solid #2 WR that they have been looking for since they drafted Andre Johnson.  Schuab needs some more young talented targets…this is a start.

23. San Diego Chargers            Shayne Skov            ILB           Stanford

As I am writing this I am learning about his season ending injury.  Does he come out and risk dropping?  I do not know but Stanford is losing a bunch of talent and Bruce Carter did not drop that far did he?  If he can recover in time for workouts he could still go here.

24. Philadelphia Eagles             Nate Potter                               OT            Boise State

Potter is a versatile OL that would do well in Philadelphia.  Eagles do not run the ball much and this helps Potter since he is way more advanced in pass protection than he is at run blocking.  He will block Vick’s blindside and give Vick a few more seconds to throw the ball.

25. Baltimore Ravens          Donta Hightower      ILB           Alabama

Ravens now have added two key pieces to their back 8.  Hightower and McDonald give the Ravens versatile, intelligent, and aggressive defensive players to replace two legends: Ray Lewis and Ed Reed.

26. Atlanta Falcons                Dwayne Allen            TE            Clemson

If the College football season continues to look this way, Egnew and Thompson are about to switch places.  Allen appears to be a complete TE that can block and be a mid field weapon.  Egnew is not nearly the blocker and is struggling to keep pace with Allen.  We shall see how the season progresses but Gonzalez is near the end and would be wise to get his replacement since Matt Ryan loves the use of a TE.

27. Detroit Lions                        Mike Adams               OT            Ohio State

Mike Adams is a beast, problem is he gets into too much trouble.  This will cause him to drop further than his talent dictates him to go.  Lions need more aggressive lineman to help their run game.  Adams will combine with DeCasto to start molding a dominate Detroit Lions Offensive Line….sounds weird writing that.  As weird as having the Lions picking 27th!!!!

28. Pittsburg Steelers              Josh Chapman       NT            Alabama

Alabama is a dominate Defense.  They have all kinds of talent in the back 8…though no one talks about the one who really allows this defense to dominate…NT Josh Chapman.  Steelers know how important it is to have a dominate NT in a 3-4.  Chapman will rotate in with Hamilton at first and than replace him.

29. New York Jets                       Mark Barron             SS            Alabama

Jets get another aggressive, intelligent, and versatile defender.  How does anyone score against Alabama???  Barron is a prospect who has shown a ton of improvement in pass coverage this season.  Rex Ryan would love to add him to his team.

30. New Orleans Saints            Lavonte David          OLB         Nebraska

Besides Jonathon Vilma and maybe in the near future Martez Wilson, the Saints have little LB talent.  Knock on David is he is too small…though his film shows other wise.  Saints always have a place for these kinds of players.  David is the kind of run stuffer needed on this team.

31. Green Bay Packers            Kheeston Randall     DL            Texas

Packers only holes on defense are depth in the front seven.  Kheeston is a huge steal and could be a prospect that goes much higher.  As it stands the Packers add a talented, versatile DL talent.

32. New England Patriots        Kevin Zeitler             OG           Wisconsin

Patriots have two young; dominate OT to protect the outside for Brady.  Inside though it is an aging group.  Zeitler is a perfect fit tor the Patriots with his playing style, intangibles, and rough demeanor.  Brady will welcome him at once.
