Round 2
1. Seattle Seahawks Chase Minnifield CB Virginia
In round 1 Andrew Luck gave them a franchise QB, now in round two Minnifield will team with Earl Thomas to start improving the defense.
2. Indianapolis Colts Zack Brown OLB NC
Colts have their future QB…now it’s time to improve this defense. Brown is capable of being an elite OLB that can influence the game in a variety of ways…his speed will be welcomed on this unit.
3. Kansas City Chiefs Alemeda Ta’Amu NT Washington
A franchise QB was acquired in round 1. Now the DL needs a massive force in the center. Welcome Ta’Amu!!!!
4. Carolina Panthers Kelechi Osemele OG Iowa State
Panthers OG are a weak link in an otherwise strong unit. Newton will be very happy after the first two rounds.
5. San Francisco 49ers Casey Hayward CB Vanderbilt
Hayward is a prospect I will put under the microscope in the next few weeks. Most of this draft slotting is on rumors as I have not watched much film on Hayward. If he is as good as advertised he will start the secondary reconstruction that is needed in the Bay.
6. Tennessee Titans Jeff Fuller WR Texas AM
Fuller is a big time steal. With Britt showing elite talent, the Titans could be an aerial force. Locker needs targets to throw the ball to….could open things up for CJ.
7. Cincinnati Bengals Ray Ray Armstrong SS Miami
Bengals need to acquire young, aggressive safety talent. Armstrong would give Zimmer a force in the back end of the defense.
8. Miami Dolphins Juron Criner WR Arizona
No quarterback worth taking here again puts the Dolphins in the position to prepare for a QB. Criner and Richardson gives the Dolphins an elite offense if they were to acquire a QB…trading or FA might be the way to go.
9. Minnesota Vikings Jake Bequette DE Arkansas
Vikings DL needs to restore and replace talent that is fleeing their team. Bequette is a Ray Edwards clone. Strong versus the run and solid in pass rushing. His leadership and intelligence would be welcome on this team.
10. Denver Broncos Morris Claiborne CB LSU
Fox wants a physical defense. Adding Worthy in round 1 helps, Claiborne cements it in. Claiborne is a big, physical CB who has elite potential with some coaching.
11. Cleveland Browns Travis Lewis OLB Oklahoma
DQ Jackson, Vontaze Burfict, and Travis Lewis will form an elite LB core. This defense will make the Dog Pound a harsh environment once again.
12. Jacksonville Jaguars Devin Taylor DE SC
Jaguars need to acquire a DE who can consistenently generate pressure on the outside. Taylor is not playing up to his potential…though there are a lot of games left for South Carolina…he will either rise or drop in my next mock.
13. New York Giants Michael Egnew TE Missouri
Manning misses his 3rd down targets Smith and Boss. Egnew would give Manning a security blanket. Manning cannot sleep well without his binky it seems.
14. Washington Redskins Mohammed Sanu WR Rutgers
Sanu is a special talent on a mediocre team. Once Shanahan gets a hold of him, the sky is the limit for this versatile, physical phenomenon.
15. Philadelphia Eagles (T) Mike Adams OT Ohio State
OL is the only real weakness on this team. Adams is a punishing run blocker who will be a near elite RT. He is more than capable in pass protection as well…he lasts because he is a trouble maker….Eagles do not care about this.
16. New England Pats (T) Melvin Ingram DL SC
Ingram is a versatile defensive player who is turning heads early into the season. Patriots would love to add this kind of player. Youth is needed on the DL.
17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sean Spence OLB Miami
Spence has elite potential. Undersized, but powerful and lightning fast. Sounds like a perfect match in Tampa Bay. Teamed with Jayron Hosley this draft has drastically improved the back seven.
18. Buffalo Bills Andrew Datko OT FSU
OL gets a solid talent. With the Bills improving the OL and LB core….can the playoffs be in the cards soon????
19. Atlanta Falcons Tanner Hawkinson OT Kansas
Sam Baker needs to be improved upon. If the Falcons want to be a passing team than Ryan’s blindside must be protected. Hawkinson is a prospect who could be moving either up or down this season. Is he physical enough? His athletic ability is incredible. At least Baker would have competition.
20. Chicago Bears Lavonte David OLB Nebraska
Manti is one player, but the LB has no depth and is aging. Also how will the Lance Briggs situation turn out? I would acquire the LB talent now and not wait. Too much is predicated on the LB in Chicago. David is a heat seeking missile.
21. Detroit Lions Nate Potter OT Boise State
Pass protection is Potter’s forte. His run blocking is solid but far from elite. Doesn’t matter, the Lions are a pass first team that would welcome the talent and competition for Fox for the soon to be vacated LT spot. Love you Backus but age will eventually win out.
22. St. Louis Rams Eddie Whitley FS VT
Whitley improves the weakest link on the defense…FS. Whitley can be a force vs. the run and be a playmaker against the pass as well. Crick and Whitley will make Spagnuolu smile….maybe.
23. Houston Texans Kevin Zeitler OG Wisconsin
Texans OL is near elite. RG is the only weakness. Zeitler is another Wisconsin OL who will be a force on Sundays. Winston and Zeitler form a powerful right side of the OL.
24. San Diego Chargers Donta’ Hightower ILB Alabama
Why not keep drafting Alabama defensive players? Hightower and Upshaw will give the LB unit some players for oppositions to fear. This unit could be nasty.
25. Pittsburg Steelers Josh Chapman NT Alabama
Casey Hamilton has been the straw that has made the defense go. Strong NT is needed in the 3-4 system. Hamilton is still solid but aging quickly and needs more breaks as well as a future replacement soon. Chapman is an under the radar prospect who has made the Crimson Tide forget about Cody.
26. Dallas Cowboys Mark Barron SS Alabama
Could be a huge steal. With improved angles in pass coverage Barron will improve his stock. If he lasts this long the Cowboys and Rob Ryan will sprint to the podium….just kidding…Rob Ryan sprinting anywhere is just a blatant lie.
27. New York Jets Vinny Curry OLB Marshall
Jets need to start acquiring young, talented Linebackers. Curry will be an ideal fit who will relish playing for Rex Ryan.
28. New Orleans Saints Brandon Lindsay DE Pittsburg
Saints could use some more talented DL. Lindsay is a solid all around talent that would allow Cameron Jordan to play more at DT.
29. Philadelphia Eagles Keenan Robinson OLB Texas
Eagles have improved both lines of scrimmage. Next is LB. Robinson is that nasty talent that would fit this team and city. Nasty, rude, and in your face.
30. New England Patriots Billy Winn DL Boise State
Another versatile Defensive lineman to go along with Ingram. Patriots DL has went unattended for a long time. That is confusing since the Patriots three Super Bowl’s were the result of an elite DL that was formed from 3 1st round Defensive Lineman.
31. Baltimore Ravens Kheeston Randall DL Texas
Ravens have elite talent on the DL, but lack depth and could use competition for Pernell McPhee at the RDE spot.
32. Green Bay Packers Tydreke Powell DT NC
DL is the only unit on this team not filled with young talent. Powell has scheme versatility and will be welcomed by the Patriots grey beards. NC talented DE and LB are kept clean due to this under rated talent.
