2011 Fantasy Football: Calling Out Arian Foster

facebooktwitterreddit

Hello everyone, I’m going to set the table straight on Fantasy Football. There have been a few NFL players/writers that have gotten confused on how big Fantasy Football really is. (Calling out you Arian Foster) Fantasy Football drives up NFL ratings for television….. big time. Now, I’m not saying it’s the only reason that the ratings are as high as they are, but it’s not hurting them either. I know many people that wouldn’t watch the NFL, but do, because they play Fantasy Football. I also know many people that didn’t know anything about football, but since they starting playing Fantasy Football, they know almost every player on every team. Fantasy Football has made them better fans, as they understand the game even more because of it.

(Take my wife for example) didn’t like the NFL, but she started playing Fantasy Football (because of me). Learned about the game…..and now she loves the NFL, along with Fantasy Football…..she’s a great example on how big Fantasy Football really has become.

Further more, the NFL is booming right now, and a lot of it has to do with Fantasy Football. I want everyone to look in the mirror and be honest with themselves, who play Fantasy Football? Who here can tell me you never watched a NFL game just because you were down by ten points with only one  Fantasy player left to go, and the only reason you watched, let’s say the Colts take on the Jags,  was to see if your player would get those ten points??

I have, and I’m sure most of you have as well. I want the NFL players (Arian Foster) to know that Fantasy Football is one of the reasons they get paid the unreal amounts of money that they get. Fantasy Football drives up NFL  television ratings…period! Ever here of the NFL Redzone?? That was made just for Fantasy Football. I DARE anyone to tell me other wise.

So, to all the NFL players that want to talk bad about fantasy football…..Shut Your Mouth! The Fans help pay your salary, please remember that! If we don’t go to games, play Fantasy Football, and watch on T.V. You don’t get the millions of dollars that you are getting.

In the year that held the NFL lockout  NFL players should be grateful that most of the fans have come back…..and I’ll be the first to tell you that Fantasy Football plays a big part in that.  Just remember that Fantasy Football brings people together, and makes the NFL even a bigger power house for ratings.

That was a rant….I’m sorry, but someone had to do it.

Thanks for the time,

Christopher Halfer…AKA…Mr. Freakin’ Fantasy.
