College Football is right around the corner and that means we can get back to scouting for the N.F.L. draft. Sayre has ratchted up his prospects for 2012 and beyond series again with a look at 40 different football teams N.F.L. prospects. The most recent additions were Memphis, UNLV, and Mississippi State. Check it out.

Wes Bunting takes a look at the 2012 Linebacker class. I think this class is the best 43 linebacker class in awhile. 2011’s 34 LB class is promising, but the 43 prospects were really lacking. In 2012, that could be much different. (That post is quite old, though). Newer from Wes Bunting is his breakdown of the top Big East Senior prospects . on defense.

A player he has high hopes for is West Virginia’s Bruce Irvin

1. DE Bruce Irvin: West Virginia (6-2, 245)
A similar type athlete to Von Miller off the edge, but might be a little more natural as a pass rusher to be honest. Looks like an impact caliber kid as a 34-rush guy in the NFL, if he can continue to keep himself clean off the field. However, plays hungry and looks like he’s out to prove people wrong.

Last year he had 14 sacks for WVU.

Tony Pauline of draftinsider.net takes a look at the Pac 12 teams: USC, Utah, Washington State, and Washington He also broke down UCLA and Stanford here.

3k of Turfshowtimes and Mockingthedraft.com has a “Prospect playbook” on Stanford Cardinal QB Andrew Luck. Check it out, it’s a pretty cool feature.

The always controversial Russ Lande of Sportingnews think Pittsburgh’s Lucas Nix is the top interior Offensive linemen for the 2011 college football season.

1. Lucas Nix, G, Pittsburgh. Nix (6-5 1/4, 303) is an aggressive blocker who gets out of his stance and quickly makes contact with defensive linemen. He flashes a strong punch to slow the initial charge of pass rushers and does a good job of driving opponents down the line. Nix also does a good job of keeping his feet moving after making contact on in-line run blocks and is able to ride his man out of the play to open holes. He has the flexibility to bend his knees and sink his hips so that he can pass block with good base and leverage. A versatile player who used to play right tackle, Nix works well with other linemen in handling defensive line stunts and games. Projection:Second-round pick.

Chad Reuter of CBS Sports gives his breakdown of 15 SEC prospects (Published August 11th)

Reuter also gives his football itinerary, which he describes by writing.

The following potential weekly schedule for a general manager during the 2011 college football season includes many of the year’s top games, but also tries to minimize duplication in order to see as many of the top prospects as possible. It’s like a big puzzle which, when complete, presents the best possible picture of the 2012 draft class
