Can Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore lead Boise State to an unbeaten season?

Offensive Outlook: Boise State Kellen Moore is one of the Heisman frontrunners this season despite losing two of his favorite receiving targets with Titus Young and Austin Pettis.  One player who still returns is Tyler Shoemaker who was Moore’s slot receiver at Boise State last year.

The offensive line is really strong.  Left Tackle Nate Potter and center Thomas Byrd anchor the Boise State run blocking offensive line.

Running back Doug Martin will help balance an offense that used a lot of vertical deep passes last season to stretch the field.  Martin had his moments last season, but was overshadowed due to Boise State’s potent passing game.

Defensive Outlook: Boise State has a very strong defensive line.  Right end Shea McClellin is the teams best pass rusher.  Left End Tyrone Crawford is another pass rushing defensive end who could take some pressure off McClellin.  Defensive Tackle Billy Winn is an excellent runs stuffer.  Teams who want to defeat Boise State are going to have to have a quarterback who can create a  passing attack because the running game is obsolete against this very talented Boise State defensive line.

Prediction 10-2 Mountain West Champions: I think Boise is getting way too much hype from the media this year.  While they do deserve a shot I just get the feeling one of their Mountain West rivals will knock them off.  There are 4 Mountain West teams that could do this.  TCU with their score to settle from the 2010 Fiesta Bowl, San Diego State with senior quarterback Ryan Lindley, Air Force with their option attack, and the sleeper that may knock off Boise State in stunning fashion is Colorado State led by sophomore quarterback Pete Thomas.  Colorado State has a bye week before they host Boise State.  Plus San Diego State has Lindley.  The Boise State Broncos are due for a mid October upset and a Colorado State team that went 3-9 is the last team that people are going to expect to defeat Boise State.
