2011 Fantasy Football: Players That Will Be Overvalued Come Draft Day.

facebooktwitterreddit

I just did a blog about undervalued players. So, I thought it was only fair I write one about overvalued players as well. With your draft just around the corner you can never have enough information. One tip I can give with the utmost convenience is you can never be to prepared come draft day. With that said, my suggestion to all you fantasy players is….. read, read, and then read some more, and mock draft until you feel ready for any situation that happens while drafting.  (We all have had that one player in the cue ready to draft, and the player before you picks him. You need to be ready for that, and expect that to happen a few times in every draft)

Greg Jennings. Yep…I said it…. Greg Jennings. Some of you will think I’m crazy, but I’m standing firm with this. Before Finley went out with his season ending injury Jennings was having a bad year. Greg seen an increase in targets because it. Also, the Packers resigned James Jones, and the Packers still have Driver and Jordy Nelson. That’s a lot of mouths to feed my friends. With Jennings being drafted in the second round of every mock draft I have done. I’m looking else where for my number one WR. I think you should do the same.

Ryan Mathews. Oh my God here we go again with this kid. At least he’s not going in the first round like last year, but Ryan is being drafted as a strong number two running back, being selected in the third round of about every mock draft I’ve done. Last time I checked Mike Tolbert was still on the team (he isn’t going any where) also, Ryan show up to camp out of shape and had to miss some time because of “soreness”. The Charges already said that Tolbert will be the 3rd down guy, also Tolbert will get goal line carries. Listen, I do think Ryan has talent, I’m just not so sure he’s going to stay healthy. Look else where in the 3rd round, and take Mike Tolbert late. The real value is with Big Mike, not Mathews.

Antonio Gates.  Holy cow….now I don’t like Gates….I sure don’t. Not for the price you have to pay to draft him. If you want Gates you will have to select him in the third round, that’s right…. THE THIRD ROUND!  I have only seen him slip into the fourth round a few times while mock drafting, but nine out of ten times he goes in the third. Ok, now for my points. Remember V-Jack was holding out last year, so Gate’s really was the number one WR for the Chargers not a TE. Also, Gates is still dealing with his foot. YES, after a whole off season his foot is still acting up. Man, for a guy that still has injury problems and being a TE, a third round pick is a lot to invest. Look, I do like Gate’s….he’s a flat out stud, but this year the TE is sooooooo deep. My advice to you is let some else take the chance. I really like Veron Davis this year now. I heard that he loves the new play book. Also, Michael Crabtree can’t stay healthy. Wait until the fifth and take Davis forget about Gate’s this year.

Darren McFadden. I love this kids talent, but guess what? Darren is already injured….again. He broke a bone in his face and will miss approximately two to three weeks. Also, Michael Bush just re-signed. I’m not saying he won’t be a stud, but I’ve seen people take him over MJD, Rashard Mendenhall, and LeSean McCoy….Don’t be that guy. If you can land McFadden at the end of the first, I’m ok with that. I have him ranked 9th for RB’s in my updated RB rankings, so it’s not like a hate him. Just don’t reach to high in drafting him.

Look for more writings on the way.

Thanks for the time,
