Report: Miami Dolphins Interested in Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton
According to Dave Hyde of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, one of the teams interested in pursuing Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton starting today will be the Miami Dolphins, and they could act quickly.
“The first Dolphins call [Tuesday] will be to Denver to survey the cost for Orton.”
Reportedly, the Broncos have placed Orton on the trading block and according to reports from a while ago, the Broncos want 2nd round value in return for Orton, so the Dolphins may look to get creative in that regard. The Broncos would likely accept a combination of picks, and possibly even a conditional pick depending on how Orton does in year one.
According to the Denver Post, the Broncos want to act quickly in terms of trading Orton. Likely a class move in order to get Orton to his new team as soon as possible, but the Broncos must be confident leaving this season in the hands of Tim Tebow or Brady Quinn, most likely the former.
If and when Orton is traded, he will likely have his contract re-structured to spread out his nearly $9 million contract for this year over a couple of years, possibly guaranteeing him a good chunk of that money to make it happen. Keep your eyes peeled today for an Orton trade, because it could be coming soon.
