2011 Fantasy Football: Updated Top 10 WR Rankings

facebooktwitterreddit

1. Andre Johnson. In a season that has no OTA’s I’m not taking anyone ahead of AJ. I think he amasses his first ten td season with 1,500 yards to boot.

2. Calvin Johnson. I had White in this spot before, but after thinking about the fact  the Falcons traded up to get Julio Jones. I have reconsidered, and now have Megatron in the two spot. I think Calvin’s upside is greater then White this year.

3. Roddy White. White is still going to get his, but Julio Jones will still take some td’s and receptions away. Look for 1,300 yards with 8 td’s from White this year.

4. Hakeem Nicks. This young kid is a beast. I don’t think Steve Smith will be completely healthy once the season starts, and even if Smith is healthy,  he could be traded. Nicks might end up the  number one  fantasy WR this year, as Manning’s number one target.

5. Mike Wallace. Yep, Wallace is now in the 5 hole. Look what he did without Big Ben for the first fours games. Wallace still had over 1,200 yards with 10 td’s. This will be Wallace’s third year now. I am expecting a 1,300 yard season with at least 8 td’s.

6. Larry Fitzgerald. I have a new position on Fitz. Last year with no QB he had over 1,100 yards with 6 td’s. This year the Cardinals will bring in a QB. Most likely Kevin Kolb, and Kyle Orton at the very worst. Fitz should be back to 1,200 yards and 10 td’s with a better QB in town.

7. Greg Jennings. This is the  guy I am worried about. I know he’s been working out with Fitz at his camp, but before Finley went down with an injury, Greg didn’t do much of anything. His QB likes to spread the ball around. So, be careful reaching to high for Jennings this year.

8. Reggie Wayne. My heart tells me he has another good year in him, but my gut is telling me to slow my roll with Wayne this year. Clark will be back and Collie should be at full speed. Temper your expectations of a huge year. Still, 1,200 yards and 6-8 td’s should be the product that Wayne produces.

9. DeSean Jackson. I know he doesn’t hall in a ton of receptions, but he’s the best homerun hitter in the NFL. My hope is they use him over the middle just a little more this year. If that happens….look out.

10. Vincent Jackson. It’s now or never for V-Jack. I think he blows up this year with the Chargers. There is an outside chance that he gets moved once FA starts, but I think the Chargers tag him. V-Jack already said he doesn’t mind if they do that.

Just Missed the Top 10.

11. Dwyane Bowe. I think he finally figured it out last year. The only problem with Bowe this year, will be a harder schedule and at times an inconsistent QB.

12. Mike Williams (Tampa Bay) Wow, was this kid fun to watch last year as a rookie. Sometimes second year players can take a step back, but I don’t see that happening with Williams. Infact, I think he builds on this rookie season with at least 1,200 yards and 8-12 td’s

13. Miles Austin. I really don’t want to reach to high for any of the Cowboy’s WR’s this year. You really are never going know which one will  blow up each game . With Dez, Witten, and maybe even Williams, that’s a lot of mouths to feed. If Miles falls to me as a number two WR that’s fine. I don’t want him as a strong number one this year.

14. Brandon Marshall. My hope with Marshall is Miami brings in another QB. Even if that doesn’t happen, no way he only has 3 td’s again. Marshall might end up a steel this year even at 14. He’s a 100 reception guy!

15. Dez Bryant. I know I have Miles and Dez very close together in the rankings. That’s because I think the Cowboys will have a good year on offence. It also helps they play in a dome. I think Dez really has more talent then Miles, but Miles might be Romo’s favorite target. I think Dez should be good for 1,000 yards and 8 td’s this year.

That does it for another ranking. Let me know  what you guys think.
