facebooktwitterreddit

Up next in our series of evaluating how well College Teams have done in putting players into the N.F.L. is the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Alabama has really come strong over the past few years and put a lot of players into the NFL through the 2011 NFL Draft (and seems likely to do it again next year), but what about over the past decade or so? Let’s take a look.

Quarterback

Brodie Croyle (Greg McElroy)

Running back:
Kenneth Darby (Mark Ingram)

Wide Receiver

(Julio Jones)

Tight End:

None Drafted

Offensive line

Mike Johnson, Andre Smith, Justin Smiley, Evan Mathis, Antoine Caldwell (James Carpenter)

Defensive line

Brandon Deaderick, Terrance Cody, Mark Anderson, Anthony Bryant, Antwan Odom. (Marcel Dareus)

Alabama has put some big boys into the N.F.L.. The combined listed weight of Bryant and Cody is 725 pounds.

Linebacker

DeMeco Ryans, Rolando McClain. Jarrett Johnson

Secondary

DeSeha Townsend, Marquis Johnson, Kareem Jackson, Javier Arenas,  Roman Harper, Charlie Prepah

Special Teams

Javier Arenas

This is not the most impressive players in the N.F.L. from one college team I’ve looked at so far, but it is on the upswing. Next year headlined by and in the future there are a lot of top prospects coming from out of Alabama. We looked at them here. Dre Kirkpatrick and Trent Richardson.
