Prospect of the day: Andrew Luck Standford Cardinal QB

facebooktwitterreddit

It seems like it’s going to be a long way until we can watch football because of that I’d thought I’d just highlight, quickly one by one, some of the top prospects for the 2012 N.F.L. Draft. Today we’ll start with the top Dawg, and the likely number one pick, Stanford Cardinal Quarterback Andrew Luck.

Andrew Luck is a once in a decade kind of prospect, and he’s considered the best quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning. Luck had a decent 2009 season completing 56.3 percent of his passes while throwing 13 touchdowns and four interceptions, but he really came on strong in 2010.

In 2010, he completed 70.7 percent of his passes at 8.97 yards per attempt with 32 touchdowns and 8 interceptions at a 170.2 QB Rating.

Strengths: Smart, mobile, accurate, poised, great footwork, good arm, gets rid of the ball quickly.

Needs improvement/weakness: needs another good season, must answer questions about why he decided to return to school (seems silly to me, but NFL teams might want to know).

Yes, I’m reaching for stuff here.

There’s no major weakness to Andrew Luck’s’ game.

We’ll be doing full out scouting reports for the top prospects starting in the next month.

Prediction: Luck will go in the top five of the N.F.L. Draft
