Fantasy Football Rumors: Braylon Edwards to be a Chicago Bear??
Braylon Edwards will be an unrestricted free agent once the owners and players stop being so damn greedy, and realize how important it is to stop the lockout for the greater good of football. Huge fans like myself, and others I know, grow tired of billionaires and millionaires fighting over more MONEY! The question becomes, how much money is enough to make everyone happy?? The answer, unfortunately it’s never enough, and the owners and players will always want more money in their pockets! Something has to give though, and I assume the players eventually will give in to the owner’s demands.
Sorry about that little rant…. as for Braylon coming to the Chicago Bears. The Bears back in 2009 wanted Edwards on their team, but it never worked out. Braylon will now be an unrestricted free agent, and the rumors are back! This would fill a glaring hole in the Bears offense. They need a big time number 1 WR, which Braylon could fit that role. The Bear’s have no true number 1 WR. Johnny Knox is a speed guy with no size, Hester is still a mess, and Earl Bennet is trying not to be injured, and just stay on the field. Jay Cutler needs this guy!
My guess is the Jets aren’t bringing him back. Holmes will be their number 1 priority. The GM for the Jets has made that very clear about Holmes. Edward’s will be looking for a big money deal. I know Edward’s has already said he would be willing to take less money to play for the Jets, but come on! If the Bears came knocking with a 4-5 year deal worth 30-40 million?? He’s going to turn that down?? HA! Also, reports/rumors have the Jet’s interested in troubled WR Randy Moss. Now, why do you think that is?? It’s because they have no desire in bring Edwards back. The Jets aren’t going to have Moss, Edwards, and Holmes all on the same team, too many mouths to feed along with egos!
Cutler and Edwards would be a feared pairing. This would be the best QB Edwards has ever played with, and the best WR Cutler has had since his Denver day’s with Marshall. This has the making of greatness written all over it. Edwards would be the big end zone target that Cutler needs. We all know when Braylon has his head on right he’s capable of 1200 plus yards and 16 td’s. I know that was back in 2007, but Braylon Edwards is only 28 and still in the prime of his career. Also, last year Braylon had his most td catches since that outstanding 2007 season with 7. He also had a 17.06 yards per catch average, which was his most ever! There are not many WR’s in the league that can get the separation down field, with great leaping ability to bring the ball down. Cutler won’t have to be perfect throwing the ball with Edward’s in town. So, some of the interceptions that Culter throws will now turn into catches.
So, what does this all mean for fantasy football?? I believe if the Chicago Bear’s due sign Braylon Edward’s he will put up big time number’s in the Bear’s offense! We are looking at 1,100 yards with 7-10 tds possible. That’s a low end number one fantasy WR for your team!
What do you guys think? Will the Bear’s offer him a big time deal? Would he excel in the Bear’s Offense? Or would he be a bust?
Thanks for your time,
