2011 Fantasy Football Rumors: Chad Ochocinco to the Patriots??

Just because the NFL is in a lockout right now doesn’t mean we have to stop dreaming about Fantasy Football. If you’re like me, the Fantasy Football season never comes soon enough.

I love talking/writing about hypothetical situations. So here’s one for you guys to chew on…..

Now, the question that needs to be asked is would Chad actually help the Patriots if he lands there? I say, YES! Heck, if the Pat’s can manage with Randy Moss there, then I think they can make Chad buy in as well. We all have seen what happened to Moss when the Patriots basically kicked him out of town. They felt that Randy was more of a problem than he was a solution. So, the Pat’s had enough and Moss was shipped out of town. Randy then went on to play for two different teams last year (Titans and Vikings) and was a total mess! Moss had multilevel blow-ups/melt downs, and it was an emotional roller coaster the rest of the year.

I believe if Chad gets the opportunity to play for the Pat’s, he will learn from the mistakes that Randy made…..and finally keep his mouth closed, or at least half way shut. I mean, it’s not every day you get to have Tom Brady throwing you the ball. In Randy’s first year with the Pat’s back in 2007, he had a monster year. Now, I wouldn’t expect Chad to put up 23 td’s, but I think 8-12 td’s would be very possible, with 1,000 plus yards. So, for Fantasy Football, that’s a number one WR for your team. I know Chad is 33, but I like the sound of a Chad/Welker combo to go along with the “Gronk” at TE. I don’t think Chad’s physical gifts have totally left him yet, he just needs to be re-energized. Tom would hopefully bring the energy that Chad needs, and be able to control his “diva-ness” If Chad does end up with the Pat’s, I think he’s in-store for a good year. He has an upside of being a number one WR, and the downside of a solid number two in my opinion.

Well, that’s where I stand, but what do you guys think?? Would Chad help himself, and the Pat’s?? Or end up being a bust??
