The First 100 Players To Be Drafted (To be Graded by the Huddle Report)
This is slightly different than our big board because it’s based on who we think will be drafted, not where we think they should be drafted.
This was more difficult than I intially inticipated there’s about 75 players we felt were a lock and then over the past week I’ve been inserting and subtracting players I thought would be the first 100 drafted. We’ll see how it turns out. Last year the winner, Rick Gosselin had 87 right, the loser nfl draft dog had 64 right. Mel Kiper and Scouts Inc (Todd McShay) both had 80 right.
Being that I’m kind of a high-risk high reward kind of draftnik, we’ve taken a few chances. We 0nly have three safeties predicted to go in the top 100. Also only four tight ends. We’re also going to roll the dice on a few players like Jah Reid, Greg Salas, and Chris Culliver (safety) among others. One surprise pick we left out of the top 100 I wanted to include is Maryland RB Da’Rel Scott who ran a 4.35 40 yard dash and has similar numbers to Jahvid Best in college. After a twittersation with Mel Kiper Jr. though I was worried he might not make the cut. Ultimately, I think we might have gone a little light on cornerbacks and WR, which could be a mistake and a little heavy on offensive linemen, but I just feel teams will reach for offensive linemen this year. We’ll see how it all plays out.
I’m deciding to put this out today a couple days early to keep myself from going mad. I want to emphasize that this is a list of players we think will be drafted first, not players we rank as the best.
