Greg Nelson’s first Mock
By Greg Nelson
The following mock draft is a quick-hit mock draft by out newest writer Greg Nelson.
CAROLINA-CAM NEWTON
If you do not think that Cam Newton is going to be the first pick you are only fooling yourself.
BRONCOS-DAQUAN BOWERS
With John Fox coming in look for the Broncos’ to find a corner stone to build around.
BILLS-BLAINE GABBERT
Now that the Panther’s have selected Cam Newton the Bill’s do not have much to think about.
BENGALS-A.J. GREEN
The Bengals’ will be looking to upgrade, and find a replacement for Ochostinko
CARDINALS-VON MILLER
With Donavan McNabb living in Arizona there is a good possibility he could be the QB for next season.
BROWNS-MARCELL DARUES
With the Browns moving back to 4-3 Dareus could be the 3 technique the Browns need to succeed.
49ERS-PATRICK PETERSON
The 9ers get the steal of the draft thus far IMO. Peterson will come in day one and contribute.
TITANS-NICK FAIRLEY
Thats right Nick Fairley drops after the combine.
COWBOYS-PRINCE AMUKAMARA
The Cowboys were terrible last year against the pass. Prince comes in to play either CB or S.
REDSKINS-TYRON SMITH
Trent Williams was the answer at LT, so now the Redskins will need to find an answer for the RT position.
TEXANS-JIIMMY SMITH
I look for Jimmy Smith to kill at the combine. If he does the Texans waste no time selecting him with the 11th overall pick.
VIKINGS-JULIO JONES
With the recent news that the Vikings will franchise Chad Greenway. The Vikings will need to find his replacement.
LIONS-ROBERT QUINN
The Lions will have the luxury of selecting the BPA, and that is Robert Quinn.
RAMS-COREY LUIGET
The Rams get a stud here at 14. Luiget will come in day one and start.
DOLPHINS-MIKE POUNCEY
Why no RB? Last I looked DeAngelo Williams is a free agent, and Miami would be the place for him to go.
JAGUARS-CAMERON JORDAN
The Jags will be looking to sure up there defensive line. Jordan along with a healthy Kampman could be a dynamic duo.
PATRIOTS- THRU RAIDERS-ALDON SMITH
The Patriots will be looking to sure up that 28th ranked defense. With Smiths long arms he should make an immediate impact.
CHARGERS-NATE SOLDER
With the Chargers putting the franchise tag on Vincent Jackson. The Chargers will need to replace Marcus McNeil.
GIANTS-MARK INGRAM
Brandon Jacobs is on his way out,and Ahmad Bradshaw is a free agent. So the Giants need to get back to the basics, and run the ball.
BUCCANEERS-RYAN KERRIAGAN
The Bucs will look to sure up that defensive line by adding a guy with a relentless motor, and high character. Kerrigan will be a nice addition.
CHIEFS-AKEEM AYERS
The Chiefs were the surprise team last year. So looking to build off that they draft a guy who is a little underrated IMO.
COLTS-MIKEL LESHOURE
With the recent release of Joesph Addai the writing is on the wall. LeShoure is a difference maker.
EAGLES-ANTHONY CASTANZO
The Eagles will need to sure up there offensive line. The last thing they need is for Vick to get hurt.
SAINTS-ADRIAN CLAYBORN
Defense has always been the achilles for the Saints. The offense fires on all cylinders only to be held in check by a lousy defense
SEAHAWKS-BRANDON HARRIS
The Seahawks look to build off there playoff run by replacing a Kelly Jennings.
RAVENS-TORREY SMITH
This guy is said to run in the 4.3’s. If so he will be a first rounder for sure. An upgrade to an old WR corp.
FALCONS-DANNY WATKINS
Tyson Clabo and Justin Blalock are both free agents so the Falcons will need to replace one of these OG’s
PATRIOTS-DEREK SHERROD
The Patriots will be looking to add some youth to the offensive line.
BEARS-MUHAMMAD WILKERSON
One thing the Bears have lacked the past few years is DT. That gets addressed at some point in this draft.
JETS-J.J. WATT
The Jets will need to figure out how to put some pressure on the QB if they want to take that next step.
STEELERS-AARON WILLIAMS
After watching the Super Bowl the one thing that was a glaring need for the Steelers was a good corner.
PACKERS-JUSTIN HOUSTON
The Packers might be the hardest team to mock, because they can afford not drafting a player in the upcoming draft and still contend for the title. For now I have them taking Justin Houston
