Video of the Day: Youtube Mock Draft
Edit: We mentioned this on Twitter, but it’s best to get it out here too (from profootballtalk.com)
"The NFL announced Monday that South Carolina tight end Weslye Saunders will be eligible for April’s draft, weeks after he was initially deemed ineligible due to paperwork botched by his agent. It had been presumed that Saunders could enter the supplemental draft in July."
Saunders is ranked as the draft’s fifth-best tight end prospect by both Mel Kiper and Todd McShay of ESPN.
I like to post a quick video everyday that has something to do with the N.F.L. Draft has just a nice way to get discussion rolling.
I found this mockdraft on youtube.com (posted today). The last one I posted was not very good, but this one I actually like a large majority of the picks. Here are the highilghts to me of this pretty well done mock draft (though I could do without that choice selection of music)
Picks of interest:
#5 Blaine Gabber to Arizona-Ken Wisenhunt is looking to compete immediately in the bad N.F.C. West. I can’t imagine them getting a quarterback in the draft and think they are going Mcanbb, Orton, or Kolb route because of their more veteran team with their very good wide receivers.
#10 Newton to Redskins-That intrigues me and not a possibility I considered a ton, But he is super mobile and the most talented QB in the class. Shanahan might think he can work magic with his superior coaching ability. As a Giants fan that’s the last thing I’d want to see is another QB who can run all over the place in he divison
#12 Aldon Smith to the Vikings-I actually like this pick. With the Williams duo and Jared Allen on one side and Aldon Smith’s potential on the other side the Vikings could overtake the Giants as the most talented Defensive line in the league.
#17 Corey Liuget to the Patriots-This is an interesting one and one I don’t really agree with. I don’t think he’s a top 32 talent, though he’s solid and the Patriots have so many early picks they should really focus on grabbing the best player available at this point.
#21 Phil Taylor Kansas City Chiefs-I think this pick is becoming more and more a possibilty. The brain trust in the cheifs comes from the Patriots who used a lot of picks on DL before they started dominating. Jackson and Dorsey are good as the DE, but they still need a good NT of the future. They should also consider a linebacker opposite Hali.
#24 Kyle Rudolph New Orleans Saints. I think Rudolph is a first round talent, but I don’t see this pick happening. Jimmy Graham has a very good rookie season and Shockey is still viable. I think they could go in a lot of different directions here (Brandon Harris is one or Rahmi Moore the safety)
#25 Jimmy Smith Seahawks-interesting. I think stock is pointing up and the Seahawks need a CB. I prefer Harris to Smith, but I like the idea of this pick for the Seahawks.
