Video of the Day: Youtube Mock
I found this video on youtube.com of somebody’s mock draft and figuring that since we’re primarily a mock draft website I thought it was worth posting. Though, “worth”, is a word I’m using almost ironically here. Thoughts after the jump.
There are some interesting picks in here, for sure.
The first one that stands out is Derrick Sherrod #3 overall to Buffalo-and while I agree that Buffalo needs to upgrade their offensive line and also that Sherrod might be the best OT in the class…3 is a bit too high.
I do, however, think a tackle is going to shoot up the draft boards and end up in the top 10. Mike Mayock, one of the most respected draft analysts alive continues to compare Nate Solder to Tony Boselli (when he was good)…so watch out for Solder to shoot up mocks as we approach the draft.
#4 Ryan Mallett is a bit weird too, possible with the Palmer drama, it’d be a bad pick though in my opinion.
3 QB’s in the top 10 and all four in the top 12 is not something I”ve seen before, though those teams all need to figure out their QB situaton I find it highly unlikely that this happens because there are big questions about all four quarterbacks.
Well, St. Louis and Jacksonville might wish Floyd and Jenkins declared for the draft, but we know now they did not.
Von Miller to the Giants at 19 is an intersting one too (if he were going to last that long) because it’s debatable whether or not Von Miller can play LB in a 4-3, which is something we will discuss soon.
Well, there’s a few minutes of your life you can’t get back, but it’s always fun critiquing mocks.
My question based on this mock is:
I’ll usually try to use “Video of the day” for prospect highlights and analysis or an interesting thought by a well known draft analysts, but if you make your own youtube mock it’ll get posted here too-after all we are a mock draft site.
