NFL Draft Player Interview: Darren Evans, Va Tech

NFL Mocks is proud to bring you our latest feature, Player Interviews.  The staff at NFL Mocks has been working hard to establish many different relationships and thanks to agreements with Ignition APG, D1 Sports, OTG Sports Management and St. Vincent Sports Performance we are able to bring you a closer look at the NFL Draft.  Over the next several weeks you will be seeing a lot of different player interviews and we want to thank the players for taking time out of their day to answer some questions.  Hopefully these interviews will let you get a good feel for the different personalities of each prospect.

This interview was provided by Darren Evans from Virginia Tech.  Evans is currently working on all aspects of his game in hopes of improving his draft stock.  We want to wish Darren good luck as the NFL Draft approaches.

Question: What has been your most memorable College Football experience?

Answer: Playing in Lane Stadium and coming out of the tunnel to “Enter Sandman” with 60,00 plus fans all jumping up and down.

Question: Who was the best player you faced during your College Football Career?

Answer: Mark Herzlich linebacker from Boston College  and Andrew Luck QB from Stanford

Question: What part of your game do you feel you have improved the most during your college career?

Answer: Blocking and picking up pass rush 2. Knowledge of game and attention to detail.

Question: To succeed at anything in life you need to have something that drives you, what is tit that drives you to succeed?

Answer: I have a four-year-old son who looks up to me. Being able to buy him things is cool, but if he looks at me like I’m superman because of what I can do on a football field will be even cooler.

Question: What do you love most about football?

Answer: Just being able to play. A lot of people love this sport and wish they could play. God has given me ability to play; I am blessed.

Question: What area of your game do you hope to improve on?

Answer: Being faster and more explosive, also catching the ball.

Question: Do you consider yourself a vocal leader or someone that leads by example?

Answer: Leads by example, but it only takes a play for me to be fired up and the I’ll start to be vocal.

Question: When it’s all said and done what would you have liked to accomplish in the NFL?

Answer: Just being productive my whole career and winning a super bowl.

Question: Does  your draft position matter to you? Will it affect you if you fall further than expected?

Answer: I would love to go on 1-3 rounds but either way I’m going to work to be the best.

Question: What do you feel is the strongest part of your game?

Answer: My vision and knowledge of the game. I also believe I’m explosive to the hole, but being explosive out of it will better help my game also.
