Senior Bowl Practice Day 2: What To Watch For
By Josh Sanchez
Day two of practices kick off at 9:30 am for the North Squad. The South practice will start at 2:30. Day two is an important day for prospects as they look to either improve on the foundation they laid yesterday or fall behind the pack. Every player should be up to speed now, and if they continue to struggle it raises a red flag on their ability to compete at the highest of levels.
For the North, I will have my eyes on Cameron Jordan again. He was dominant on opening day and it will be interesting to see if he continues his impressive week or if he takes a step back as the offensive linemen get more comfortable. On the flip side, Pierre Allen and Ryan Kerrigan will need to show a wider variety of moves and try to show they won’t get bullied around like they did yesterday.
All three quarterbacks will be helped by better days. Jake Locker did not look like a first round pick and he will have to improve his consistency, while Ricky Stanzi will have to show that he is capable of being even remotely accurate. Colin Kaepernick needs to shorten his release and work on the footwork under center.
For the South, Leonard Hankerson tore it up yesterday while the other receivers seemed to have trouble adjusting to the speed of the game. Hankerson can continue to pull away from the pack with another brilliant performance like yesterday.
Be sure to tune in to NFL Mocks later today for full practice reports from the North and South squad.
