NFL Power Rankings – Week 17 Final Addition
By Editorial Staff
21. Minnesota Vikings – Leslie Frazier is now the head coach of the Vikings for good. It will interesting to see what they do with the QB position now that Brett Favre is on his way out for good.
22. Houston Texans – The Texans ended Jacksonville’s season and Arian Foster won the rushing title as an undrafted free agent. The question now is the future of Gary Kubiak and his staff. Changes will likely be made, how far they reach is the question.
23. Washington Redskins – Donovan McNabb and Albert Haynesworth are the biggest offseason questions surrounding the Redskins. McNabb is likely out and Haynesworth may be right on his heels proving that money doesn’t always buy wins.
24. Dallas Cowboys – Dallas is looking at a top ten pick that will greatly help an already very talented team who played without their QB for most of the year. Jason Garrett likely did enough to secure himself the head coaching job in 2011.
25. Tennessee Titans – The biggest question surrounding the Titans this week is the future of Jeff Fisher. He is the NFL’s longest tenured head coach, but his team under achieved in 2010 and his issues with Vince Young may be enough to put Fisher on the street. The good news for him is if this happens he will likely have a new job in no time.
26. San Francisco 49ers – The 49ers are going to pursue Jim Harbaugh with everything they have. The move would make sense for him, but he will have his choice of jobs to pursue and the 49ers lack the talent of some other teams that will likely be in pursuit of his services.
27. Cleveland Browns – Mangini is out in Cleveland and the coaching search is on in Cleveland. Browns fans have every reason to be hopeful in the coming years with a solid GM and a new coach.
28. Arizona Cardinals – After Andrew Luck the talent drops off a bit at the Quarterback position, but Arizona will likely be willing to reach a bit to grab their next franchise QB. They may have their pick between Cam Newton, Ryan Mallet and Jake Locker.
29. Cincinnati Bengals – The Bengals had four turnovers on Sunday and still had every right to win the game against Baltimore. The coaching question hangs in the balance but Cincinnati played extremely well in the last few weeks with an infusion of young talent around Carson Palmer.
30. Buffalo Bills – Brian Brohm started on Sunday and looked terrible. The Bills lucked out with some late victories to secure the 3rd pick over the Bengals despite beating the Bengals head to head their strength of schedule being slightly easier than Cincinnati’s.
31. Denver Broncos – The Broncos have brought John Elway on board and are quite possibly looking at trying to bring in Jim Harbaugh as their next head coach. If that happens look for Denver to pull out all the stops to move up to the #1 pick to grab Harbaugh’s former QB at Stanford in Luck.
32. Carolina Panthers – Carolina looked like a team that deserves the #1 overall pick. They were the worst team all year and will be lucky if Andrew Luck decides to leave school.
