NFL Power Rankings – Week 17 Final Addition
By Editorial Staff
11. Kansas City Chiefs – Kansas City gets a tough opening round matchup with Baltimore. Arrowhead will be a help but the Chiefs have their work cut out for them regardless.
12. Seattle Seahawks – The Seahawks managed to be the first team in NFL history to make the playoffs with a losing record. If they do anything in the playoffs everyone will be shocked.
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – The Buccaneers won again but were shut out of the playoffs thanks to the horrendous NFC West. The good news for Tampa is that they have the youngest team in the league and appear to have a special player in Josh Freeman.
14. New York Giants – Quite a fall from grace for the Giants. They were on fire early in the year but fell apart in the end.
15. San Diego Chargers – San Diego finished the season 1st in offense and defense yet out of the playoffs. Just an impressive feat in many ways.
16. Oakland Raiders – Oakland managed to sweep the AFC West and still not make the playoffs. Firing Tom Cable at this point would be a huge mistake, but Al Davis defy’s logic so no one can be shocked.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars – Jacksonville fell apart at the end of the season and lost their QB and RB to injury down the stretch. The Jaguars will have some questions to answer regarding their QB position this offseason.
18. Miami Dolphins – Tony Sparano may pay the price for his beat down by the Patriots on Sunday. The Dolphins made some moves in the offseason and they didn’t pay off and the coach may be the one who catches the wrath.
19. St. Louis Rams – Sam Bradford didn’t get much help from anyone on Sunday and the Rams fell short of a playoff berth. A talented WR in round one would be a huge help to their young QB.
20. Detroit Lions – The Lions won their last four games and appear to be on the way up. Their future may hinge on the health of Matthew Stafford going forward.
