Houston Texans

The Texans appear to have a stranglehold on finishing the season with the worst pass defense in the league. They allow 275.1 yards per game, and help at safety and corner is needed to help the pass defense. Kevin Walter and Jacoby Jones are alright options across from Andre Johnson at wide receiver, but he could benefit from a more reliable option on the opposite side. The interior offensive line could also use some upgrades.  I believe Gary Kubiak won’t be brought back next year as head coach. This team has been underachieving and I’ve seen very questionable decisions made during games that have cost the Texans games. Will Bill Cowher be an option? We’ll find out within the next month and a half.

Indianapolis Colts

With Austin Collie’s concussions and Anthony Gonzalez’s injury problems, the Colts are suddenly short at receiver. Of course their biggest need is offensive line. When Bill Polian spoke after the Super Bowl about the offensive line being bad, I believe he foreshadowed the problems they’d have this season. He also said on his radio show just a few weeks ago that if he could do the draft over again, he’d take offensive tackle Roger Saffold rather than Jerry Hughes. Saffold has been starting at left tackle, protecting Sam Bradford’s blindside pretty well this season. The run defense came to life against Jacksonville this past Sunday, but defensive tackle needs improvement. Safety may need to be added since Bob Sanders has been injured again this season.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Their quarterback of the future needs to be brought in soon, because David Garrard is having a great year, but I just know it’ll be downhill from here on out. The interior of the offensive line could use an upgrade or two, namely center where Brad Meester is getting older and his play is falling off. Rashean Mathis and Derek Cox aren’t getting the job done at the corners and it’s been a revolving door at both safety spots this year. So every spot in the secondary needs an improvement.

Tennessee Titans

It’s a shame that Vince Young may still be the Titans quarterback next year if owner Bud “The Fingers” Adams chooses to keep VY over head coach Jeff Fisher. Wide receiver has become another need over the course of this year, as Kenny Britt has had some injury problems, plus Randy Moss hasn’t done anything since he arrived, and probably won’t be brought back. A dominant defensive tackle could help them return to being a stout defense. Linebackers also need more talent to help improve the 24th ranked defense. Alterraun Verner was a nice find for them in the later rounds of the 2010 draft.
