NFL Bold Predictions: Week 2
By Editorial Staff
We saw some great performances out of the 2010 draft class in week 1, and some not so great as well. This week we have quite a few intriguing matchups, including the Manning brothers facing off in Indy and the Jets and Patriots battle it out. That isn’t why we are here, this is NFL Mocks and we want to dissect the rookie matchups. Here are a few Bold Predictions I have for week 3.
Dexter McCluster returns a punt 94 yards for a TD last week vs. San Diego
* Jordan Shipley and Jermaine Gresham should see a lot of quick looks from Carson Palmer. The Ravens pressure on Palmer will cause him to dump it quick. Look for Shipley and Gresham to combine for 12 receptions and 150 yards plus a score.
* Chiefs rookies had a huge game last week. I like the return duo of Dexter McCluster and Javier Arenas to get at least 150 yards in the return game combined. Tony Moeaki scored a TD last week, I think he gets another one this week along with 5 receptions and 50 yards. Eric Berry makes his first interception this week against the Browns.
* Tampa Bay Bucs WR Mike Williams has already made an impact with his new team. He should have a break out game against the Panthers. I’m thinking 8 receptions for 110 yards and 2 TD. Bucs DT Gerald McCoy has a good chance to help shut down the Carolina power running game. I think he helps hold the Panthers to under 150 yards on the ground.
Ndamukong Suh will be chasing Eagles QB Michael Vick all day, will he catch him?
* Ndamukong Suh will have a great day against the Eagles offensive line, but he will have a hard time catching Michael Vick. He will keep Vick on the run all day, though. I think he gets 1 sack, pressures him all day and is a force against the run.
