This week had one game on the schedule with the Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Dallas Cowboys in the annual Hall of Fame Game. Below is a quick rundown on how some of the top rookies performed.
Cincinnati Bengals:
The top performance has to go to 4th round pick Geno Atkins. Atkins was a force the entire time he was on the field. He ended his evening with 5 tackles, 1 sack, and 3 tackles for loss. He played with a ton of energy and showed great strength and a quick burst. He made a really nice play on a third in long draw attempt by the Cowboy’s Tashard Choice. Jordan Shipley also had some impact on the game and provided an electrifying 63 yard punt return that set up the Bengals only touchdown. He also had 2 catches for 17 yards. The Bengals top to picks Jermaine Gresham and Carlos Dunlap didn’t make any notable plays, on Dunlap’s defense he didn’t play in the game due to an injury. Brandon Ghee got some good playing time and made some nice plays. Receiver Dez Briscoe had 1 catch for 11 yards.
Dallas Cowboys:
The Cowboys top two selections Dez Bryant and Sean Lee both missed the game due to injuries. The Cowboys got some nice play out of 6th round cornerback Jamar Wall. Undrafted rookie linebacker Brandon Sharpe has an interception for a touchdown.
