By Editorial Staff
Josue Paul-WR- Central Connecticut State
6’0 215lbs Senior
Stats:
2007- 2 receptions, 29 yards, 1 touchdown
2008- 23 receptions, 272 yards, 1 touchdown
2009- 56 receptions, 839 yards, 5 touchdowns
Pros:
Josue Paul was presented to us by a fan and we feel he has some sleeper potential. He has excellent hands and is improving his route running. Paul has been mainly used as a deep threat in a run oriented offense but there is no denying he has ability. Paul’s good body control only enhances his deep play ability, allowing him to be in good position to make plays. Paul boasts excellent athletic ability and he will be hoping for an invite to next year’s scouting combine.
Cons:
We mentioned that Paul has improved his route running but this is still a problem area for him. He heavily relies on his athletic ability but that won’t work in the NFL. He needs to improve his technique to properly utilize his athletic skills. Paul has to fight an uphill battle coming from a small school so he needs to avoid concentration problems, which has resulted in several dropped passes.
Thoughts:
We mentioned that Josue Paul has the potential to be a sleeper pick but he needs to put up impressive numbers this season. He needs to cut down on the mental mistakes and utilize his athletic ability properly. Paul’s best hope right now would be to impress scouts enough to get an invite to the Scouting Combine and the Senior Bowl circuit.
Projected Round:
It is tough to get a good read on the later round prospects but Josue Paul could be in for some late round consideration.
