Round 2 another Round 1?
After an exciting Round 1 of the 2010 NFL Draft we look to day 2. Looking at what prospects are still out there, round 2 has just as much talent as round 1. Some of the names that jump out at your are Jimmy Clausen, Colt McCoy, Taylor Mays, and Sergio Kindle. Those guys are not the only quality players out there, and a team could really add another nice piece in round 2. Lets look at some of the teams that are sitting in a good position.
A team like the Bills could really revamp their entire offense by adding either a quarterback or one of the talented tackles left on the board. Originally I didn’t like the Bills selection of CJ Spiller basis on their other needs but the way the draft fell they could still get a 1st round talent today. My strategy for them would be to add Rodger Saffold, Charles Brown, or Bruce Campbell in the second round and them make a move for a Dan LeFevour in the 3rd round.
The Cleveland Browns are looking for a long term solution at the quarterback position and they find themselves in a good position. When they pick #6 in the 2nd round they could be staring both Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy in the face.
The St. Louis Rams have an opportunity to pick up some extra picks because there has to be interest in the top pick in the 2nd round. Even if they keep the pick they could potentially find a starter at a position of need.
So after an interesting first 1 round we have to wait about 5 more hours to see how the rest will unfold. I expect a lot of trades today and expect to hear the names selected today making a major impact in the NFL next year.
