Scout has harsh words for “the fat kid from UCLA” Brian Price

In an interview conducted by Jeff Ridson of Real GM Football, a scout had some harsh words for defensive tackle Brian Price of UCLA.

Price is often viewed as a top five defensive tackle and a potential first or second-round pick, but the comments of the interviewed scout raised some serious red flags.

When asked to name a player most believe is a first-round pick prospect but he thought would slide, the scout commented with this gem:

"Brian Price, the fat kid from UCLA. I’ll tell you what, Terrence Cody is in a lot better shape than that kid and he’s (Cody) comfortable with his size. Price will flash you the ability to get into the backfield, but watch him against good teams and he didn’t do sh**. I know a lot of people that think he’s going to be a big bust. Enough people that I think he’ll get humbled a little come draft day."

Mount Cody is the kid who showed up to the Senior Bowl weighing more than 370-pounds. Cody has since gotten himself into shape and worked his way down to 349-pounds.

Many scouts and NFL personnel were not satisfied with Cody’s poor physique and it questioned his work ethic. If this last quote about Price is an accurate representation of multiple scout’s opinions, “the fat kid from UCLA” could be in for a long draft day.

In a draft class loaded at talent at the defensive tackle position, being labeled the lazy fat kid is not what you want to hear. You want to be known as the guy who is solid against the run or able to wreak havoc up the interior of opposing offensive lines.
