All Eyes On Tim Tebow As He Struggles Early At The Senior Bowl
By Josh Sanchez
The Under Armour Senior Bowl kicked off practices today in Mobile, Alabama. Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is the biggest star in this year’s all-star game and he may be the biggest star in Senior Bowl history.
When Tebow came out on the practice field for the first time, the crowd erupted with cheers. Unfortunately for the Florida superman, that would be as good as his day would get.
Everyone knew that Tebow needed to drastically improve his throwing motion and while it is still early in the draft process, he has shown no improvement. The ball still lowers to his thigh pad on delivery.
On top of the throwing motion, Tebow needs to improve his footwork from under center as well as getting comfortable taking snaps. The All-American fumbled on numerous occasions and at one point fumbled three in a row. During 7-on-7 drills, Tebow showed spotty accuracy and he would check down frequently.
There is still a lot of room for improvement as the week goes on, and Tebow’s competitiveness and willingness to put himself in this environment has already impressed scouts. He needs some mechanical work, but his intangibles will land him in day one of the draft. All it takes is one team to like Tebow enough to pull the trigger, and the way he will show in interviews it is hard to imagine he won’t impress at least one team.
