]]> I refuse to write about this trash, so you can read what a real lawyer, Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk, has to say about the matter. If you know me at all, I’ve been extremely critical of both the owners and players throughout this whole process, and I refuse to bicker about it anymore, get excited, or jump to any conclusions, because that has done me no good. “When the NFL and the NFLPA* burned the midnight oil last Thursday night and then decided to catch essentially the first flight on Friday out of Minnesota, the parties risked squandering the progress that had been made.  One of the big questions as the big players reconvened today in Manhattan after six days off was whether they would pick up where they left off, or whether it would take time to get back to where they were last week.

Apparently, the answer is the former.”

Thursday marked the beginning of ordered mediation between the NFL and the NFLPA*. Earlier this week, reports came out that U.S. District Judge Susan Nelson would order both sides to negotiation under the mediation of Judge Arthur Boylan after the two sides both stated they wanted to continue negotiation but could not agree on a mediator.

According to Sean Leahy of USA Today, both NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA* executive director DeMaurice Smith are attending the mediation session in Minneapolis. In attendance for the league owners are Clark Hunt of the Chiefs, Robert Kraft of the Patriots, Jerry Richardson of the Panthers, and Art Rooney of the Steelers according to NFL Spokesman Greg Aiello.
