Smith’s draft stock is probably falling faster than anyone’s at the combine. A few weeks ago he appeared like one of the favorites to be the #1 pick to the Detroit Lions. Since then it has become more apparent that Detroit is looking to take Matthew Stafford with it’s top choice, but Smith was still widely considered a consensus top 10 pick at the lowest before this latest incident.

I will have more on the NFL combine shortly. What is everyone’s thoughts on Smith after two apparent mishaps in the last two months? It seems like a guy that had everything going for him couldn’t screw up a chance to be a top five pick, but apparently he has.

If OT Jake Long didn’t impress you yesterday, maybe RB Darren McFadden will. McFadden just ran a 4.27 forty-yard dash. This is right now his unofficial time, but it looks like McFadden didn’t hurt himself by running at the combine. Matter of fact, he might have made himself the top pick with someone looking to trade up to get him. (Somewhere Jerry Jones is drooling)McFadden was also rumored to have a slight quad injury and many people wondered why he was running. Today he showed he is a competitor just like Adrian Peterson did last year at the combine. There is no way he slips like Purple Jesus did last year. The only way would be if his off the field problems scare teams away, but I think a 4.2 forty will make all of those people forget about those problems.
