Well it’s still summer time and the writers at NFL Mocks are already looking towards next year’s draft. We have our 2011 NFL Draft Prospect Big Board and many Scouting Reports. But now it’s time to get to the always controversial Mock Draft. We have spend some considerable time developing the below draft order. The order is going to bring a lot of discussion and angry feelings, but we did our best to simulate the entire 2010-2011 NFL Season. We are going to maintain this draft order for a few weeks and then do another simulation. Then when the season starts we will utilize the up to date standings to develop our Draft Order. Please keep in mind that we are early in the process and we have a long way until the 2011 NFL Draft, but let’s have some fun. As usual we love to see feedback. This is the first Mock for NFLMocks by writer Jason Madson you will notice that the Mocks will be completed by all of our staff.

1 Buffalo Bills (2-14)- Jake Locker- QB- Washington- Scouting Report

- Its no secret that the Bills need to find a long term answer at the quarterback position. As of right now Locker is our top rated quarterback and top rated player.

2 St. Louis Rams (2-14)- AJ Green- WR- Georgia- Scouting Report

- Surrounding Sam Bradford with the right pieces has to be the number one goal for the Rams organization. Green is a major playmaker and has drawn comparisons to Randy Moss.

3 Detroit Lions (2-14)- Gabe Carimi- OT- Wisconsin- Team Needs Report, Scouting Report

- Protecting Matthew Stafford should be the number one priority. He is the future of the Lions franchise. Carimi gives the Lions a super-sized security blanket for Stafford.

4 Tampa Bay Bucs (3-13)- Julio Jones- WR- Alabama- Scouting Report, Team Needs

- The Bucs need to continue to surround Josh Freeman with talented playmakers and Jones is just that. It is important to note that this pick may change depending on the development of 2010 draftees Benn and Mike Williams.

5 Cleveland Browns (4-12)- Robert Quinn- DE/OLB- UNC- Scouting Report

- Each year we see the importance of having a good pass rush and the Browns are in desperate need of a pass rush. Robert Quinn has a ton of potential and could easily be a double digit sack guy for his entire career.

6 Kansas City Chiefs (4-12)- Bruce Carter- OLB- UNC- Team Needs

- The Chiefs need to bring more heat from the outside in the 3-4. Tamba Hali can’t do it by himself, so Carter is the pick here. He adds more athleticism to the Chiefs defense.

7 Denver Broncos (5-11)- Patrick Peterson- CB- LSU – Scouting Report, Team Needs

- Champ Bailey is still a very good CB, but he is getting older. Peterson is the top corner in this draft and with all the pass happy offenses in the NFL, the Broncos could use some help.

8 Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11)- Ryan Mallett- QB- Arkansas- Scouting Report

- I’m not sold on David Garrard, and I believe that the Jaguars are about done with him too. Mallett has too much talent to pass up at this point for Jacksonville. Let’s hope the Jaguars don’t try to transform this Arkansas QB into a WR.

9 Seattle Seahawks (5-11)- Marvin Austin- DL- UNC- Scouting Report

- The Seahawks need a playmaker on the defensive line, and Austin is that guy. He will create pressure and collapse the pocket for the underachieving Seahawk defensive ends.

10 New England Patriots from Oakland Raiders (6-10)- Cameron Heyward- DE- Ohio St- Scouting Report

- Cameron Heyward is an elite talent, and he happens to fit perfectly into the Patriots 3-4 defense at the five. He can have a similar impact as Richard Seymour in this defense.

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

Check out the rest of the Mock after the Jump

11 Pittsburgh Steelers (6-10)- Matt Reynolds- OT- BYU- Scouting Report

- The Steelers offensive line is a definite weakness. Matt Reynolds will instantly make it better. He is an elite pass protector and above average in the run game.

12 Arizona Cardinals (7-9)- Christian Ponder- QB- Florida St

- Arizona is in a difficult situation this season. They have a team to challenge in the NFC West, but the QB position is going to hold them back. Matt Leinart is the starter with Derek Anderson backing him up. That is a scary. If Andrew Luck comes out he is also a possibility here.

13 Atlanta Falcons (7-9)- Adrian Clayborn- DE- Iowa- Scouting Report, Team Needs

- John Abraham is nearing the end of his career, so the Falcons pick up his replacement here. Clayborn is a near Abraham clone with his motor and strength.

14 New York Giants (7-9)-Mark Ingram- RB- Alabama- Scouting Report, Team Needs Report

- The Giants had an injury filled stable of running backs last season, a big reason why they were only an 8-8 team. The power run game the Giants like to employ would be back up and running with the addition of Ingram.

15 Chicago Bears (8-8)- Michael Floyd- WR- Notre Dame-Scouting Report, Team Needs Report

- The Bears added Mike Martz in the offseason to be the offensive coordinator, he needs weapons to run his offense. Floyd is a big time weapon that the Bears would love to add to their mix of average WR.

16 Philadelphia Eagles (8-8)- Prince Akumara- CB- Nebraska- Scouting Report, Team Needs Report

- Prince is an extremely physical corner who would fit in the Philly defensive backfield perfectly.

17 New England Patriots (9-7)- Jason Pinkston- OT- Pitt

- Sebastian Vollmer worked out very well last year, but he can only play one tackle spot. Both tackle positions for the Pats are replaceable in my opinion. Pinkston could come in immediately and take over the right tackle spot.

18 Dallas Cowboys (9-7)- Anthony Castonzo- OT- Boston College- Team Needs Report

- Dallas needs to develop a replacement for Doug Free (in case he is ineffective) at left tackle and the injury prone right tackle Colombo. Having more of a sure thing at LT instead of Flozell Adams would’ve helped the Cowboys out a lot last year.

19 Carolina Panthers (10-6)- Allen Bailey- DT- Miami- Scouting Report, Team Needs

- Carolina needs to retool on the defensive side of the ball. Adding Bailey to the mix gives the Panthers a valuable play maker that they are currently lacking on the front four.

20 Washington Redskins (10-6)- Deunta Williams- S- UNC- Team Needs Report

- Washington should put some decent pressure on the QB this season, so with the addition of the ball hawking safety Williams comes more turnovers.

21 Tennessee Titans (10-6)- Jerrell Powe- DT-Ole Miss

- Jerrell Powe instantly gives the Titans a solid DT rotation, something with which they should thrive on.

22 Green Bay Packers (10-6)- Sam Acho- OLB- Texas- Team Needs Report

- Acho will be a dominate pass rusher in whatever system he goes to. The 3-4 is the perfect place for this Longhorn.

23 Miami Dolphins (11-5)- Ras-I Dowling- CB- Virginia- Scouting Report

- The addition of Dowling to the Dolphins secondary instantly makes it one of the youngest and best. He has the talent to move incumbent CB Sean Smith to the nickel package.

24 Houston Texans (11-5)- DeAndre McDaniel- S- Clemson- Scouting Report

- If Bernard Pollard can continue to play at his 2009 pace, the Texans could have one of the best safety combos with the drafting of McDaniel.

25 San Diego Chargers (11-5)- Jared Crick- DT- Nebraska- Scouting Report, Team Needs

- Jared Crick is a Luis Castillo clone. The duo’s high motors would wreak havoc on the AFC West.

26 Baltimore Ravens (11-5)- Von Miller- OLB- Texas A&M- Scouting Report

- The Ravens are set at 3-4 OLB with Suggs, Johnson and Sergio Kindle, but the potential of Von Miller is way too much to pass up at this stage.

27 Cincinnati Bengals (11-5)- Evan Royster- RB- Penn St- Scouting Report

- The Bengals are in need of a running back, taking the best on the board makes sense here.

28 New Orleans Saints (11-5)- Travis Lewis- LB- Oklahoma- Scouting Report, Team Needs

- The New Orleans Saints had a difficult time stopping the run last season, so Travis Lewis is my selection here.

29 San Francisco 49ers (12-4)- Jeremy Beal- DE- Oklahoma

- Jeremy Beal is another huge body that will plug into the 49ers D. He has the ability to stop the run every week.

30 New York Jets (12-4)- Greg Romeus- DE- Pitt

- He is an ideal fit in the Jets 3-4 defense. Will replace the current DE Mike DeVito.

31 Minnesota Vikings (12-4)- Nate Solder- OT- Colorado- Team Needs Report

- No matter who the QB is, or how old, the Vikings could use a few solid offensive lineman, Since Loadholt exceeded everyone’s expectations Solder would either have to make the move to RG, or wait his turn.

32 Indianapolis Colts (14-2)-Curtis Brown- CB- Texas- Scouting Report

- The Colts just added another piece to their defensive backfield.

Pete Prisco off of Sportsline.com recently listed his Top 50 NFL players, something he does anually during the offseason. I think it is a great idea, so I figured I’d make a list of my own. My list only has 20 players but I will add more if you guys want to see it, but I wasn’t sure how much interest this would draw. Without further ado, here’s the list:

1. Peyton Manning: Yes above Brady. Manning has great seasons even when he has a down year, and although Tom Brady was breaking records last season I still think Peyton is the better player.

2. Tom Brady: Is it an injustice to have Brady #2? Perhaps after breaking the NFL passing touchdown record last year. but there’s no doubt that the guy is a flat out winner.

3. Ladanian Tomlinson: LT is still the NFL’s best running back but AP is catching him fast. Regardless who’s making the list everyone has to at least have him in the top five.

4. Bob Sanders: Sanders is the NFL’s best defensive player. He has made Indianapolis one of the NFL’s best defenses after they struggled for years on that side of the ball.

5. Randy Moss: Did you see what this guy accomplished this year? To me it just showed how bad the Oakland Raiders passing game is. Moss is easily the NFL’s best wide receiver.

6. DeMarcus Ware: Ware does it all for the Cowboys on defense. He pretty much runs the defense and he is still learning, that’s the scary thing.

7. Terrell Owens: Back to back Dallas Cowboys. He completely changes defensive gameplans. Even with all the Cowboys’ weapons he is what makes their offense run smoothly.

8. Champ Bailey: The NFL’s best cornerback, even at age 30. He hasn’t lost a step at all, which is impressive. When he is on the field quarterbacks stay away from throwing at him.

9. Adrian Peterson: This guy had more rushing yards in a single game (296) then any player in NFL history, he has to be in the top 10. I’m not sure if he has a Sophomore slump ahead of him or not (with that passing game he probably will), but you’ve got to love how he plays the game. He does it all.

10. Walter Jones: I have for a long time thought that Jones deserves a lot more credit than he gets. Shaun Alexander’s record breaking season a few years back is all due to Jones run blocking skills.

11. Steve Smith: Another guy that completely affects defenses gameplans. When he is on the field he is as dangerous as anyone in the NFL.

12. Jared Allen: He led the NFL in sacks last season and now he’s playing for Minnesota after KC traded him before the draft. Great news for Vikings fans.

13. Antonio Gates: Easily the NFL’s best tight end. He makes defenses pay all the time with matchup problems and his pass catching threat is what really makes San Diego’s offense go.

14. Brian Westbrook: This guy will do anything to win a football game. Catch passes. Run the ball 25 times. I wish I could have 11 of him on the field every time I picked a team.

15. Dwight Freeney: He always forces offensive lines to double team him, allowing Indianapolis’ defense to be aggressive when they need to. He really doesn’t get enough credit.

16. Ed Reed: If I could pick one safety in the league to make a big play at a moment where I needed a big play I’d take Reed in a heartbeat. The kid has a knack at making big plays.

17. Reggie Wayne: He easily became the NFL’s most under appreciated receiver last season when Marvin Harrison went down and the Colts offense never lost a beat.

18. Albert Haynesworth: He’s the best defensive tackle in the league. He was having a great season last year before he got injured.

19. Shawne Merriman: This guy is one of the best linebackers in the league, no doubt. He makes big plays and seldom misses a tackle. He’s been running San Diego’s defense since the day he was drated.

20. Mario Williams: Take that Mario Williams haters! Thought the Texans made the wrong move taking him over Reggie Bush? Everyone did. Well everyone was wrong.
