ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. takes a look back on who helped and who hurt themselves the much with performances at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

Kiper claims that Boise State cornerback Kyle Wilson made himself a lot of money by improving his stock from a mid-second round pick to a late first-round pick. The draft guru also says USC safety Taylor Mays really hurt his stock in Mobile, and he will need a huge Scouting Combine to stay in the top half of round one.

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow struggled during his first day at practices for the Under Armour Senior Bowl.

Tebow needs to improve his footwork from under center as well as getting comfortable taking snaps. The All-American fumbled on numerous occasions and at one point fumbled three in a row. During 7-on-7 drills, Tebow showed spotty accuracy and he would check down frequently.

The Heisman Trophy winner made strides during day two, but he still showcased some glaring weaknesses in his game. Tebow throws a beautiful long ball, however, his elongated release will allow safeties to jump deep routes in the NFL which will result in interceptions.

Here is a video of Tim Tebow throwing the ball at the Senior Bowl courtesy of DraftBreakdown.com.

You can see Tebow’s long release, but you can also see that he possesses the ability to throw the long ball and his final pass in the video to Florida teammate Riley Cooper had some nice zip on it. Tebow is still taking false steps in his drops — that is expected from a quarterback who spent his entire college career running the spread-option.

There is no doubt that Tebow will continue to be the story throughout Senior Bowl week, so be sure to check back in with NFL Mocks for the latest news.

All of these announcements came on Friday, and it made the NFL Draft even more talented and deeper than before. Missouri’s Jeremy Maclin, Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree, Alabama’s Glen Coffee, and BYU’s Austin Collie all announced that they are foregoing their senior season to enter the 2009 NFL Draft.

So what does this do? It certainly makes things harder on Florida’s Percy Harvin and Maryland’s Derrius Heyward Bey. Bey has already announced he is leaving school for the NFL while Harvin is still among three Florida players yet to make a decision after the national championship game. Both Crabtree and Maclin are expected to be first round picks, as it Heyward Bey and Harvin if he decides to leave.

Glen Coffee is the biggest question mark of these players to return. He is a decent sized running back with an amazing ability to find the holes and to fall forward once he gets there. I don’t see him going anywhere around round one, which makes this decision a little baffling. Maybe he feels like he can make a huge impact at the NFL combine and soar up draft boards.

Decisions from Tim Tebow, Harvin, Brandon Spikes, and Sam Bradford are among those still to come. Keep checking our early entry board for more information.
