Wilson is going to be one of the most polarizing quarterback prospects in this draft. He doesn’t have good size and when he was with North Carolina State he made a million more mistakes. This year he is playing great? But is that because of the offensive line in front of him? Is he still the mistake prone QB people saw at NC State? he has a cannon of an arm and can also run.

Montee Ball, RB

Another prospect people find polarizing. Ball has had one of the most productive football seasons in the history of College Football. Is that a product of the offensive line in front of him? Watch today for yourself and see if Ball has the vision and explosion that teams covet in running backs.

Scouting Report

Wilson unfortunately doesn’t have ideal size for an NFL quarterback, but fortunately for him, it might not wind up mattering. Wilson isn’t quite a clone of Seneca Wallace, but they are pretty similar players and Wallace made it in the NFL for a while. There will be a team that finds a spot for this guy, who is one of the more veteran players in college football. After three years at North Carolina State, Wilson took his show on the road to Wisconsin after being drafted to Major League Baseball by the Colorado Rockies. Graduated in three years from NC State, very smart guy who has been one of the biggest playmakers in the ACC up to this past year. Since coming to Wisconsin, he’s played nothing but Heisman caliber football, throwing for 1,136 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only one interception in four games as the Badgers’ starting quarterback. Dual threat quarterback who has a strong arm and can make all the needed throws. Has struggled with accuracy in his career but his decision making has improved considerably with the Badgers. The fact that he earned the starting job and has such great chemistry with his teammates already is a real testament to his work ethic and leadership ability. It will be interesting to see what he plays at the next level, but he undoubtedly has a future in the NFL or MLB.

Despite the fact that his team has lost two straight games on hail mary passes, Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson is having a fantastic season by all accounts, and is a guy who is being talked about in NFL circles as a potential second round draft pick.

Truthfully, the only attribute that Wilson lacks as an NFL quarterback prospect is height. He has a strong arm, good field vision, he is accurate, playmaking ability, athleticism, speed, quick release, effective both in and out of the pocket, and has been consistently productive over the last four years.

Russell Wilson's two interceptions and Kirk Cousins Led to Wisconsin's first loss

Wisconsin Quarterback Russel Wilson has really had a stellar season, but he let their undefeated season come to an end on Saturday night as he wasn’t able to overcome some mental mistakes and a fluky game ending touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins. Wilson, the rest of the badgers, and Big 10 nation watched in horror as Michigan State caught a last second Hail Mary Touchdown pass that was knocked down by Wisconsin right into the hands of Keith Nichol who fought forward for the final yard. The play was originally ruled no touchdown, and then it went to review and it was overturned to a touchdown. The replay was difficult because the camera angles we were seeing at home were shaking, though it looked like it might be the right call. Was the evidence indisputable? That’s where the controversy begins.

Throughout the game Wilson missed a few open wide receivers as he didn’t make great reads and was a little careless with the football. Wilson throw two interceptions and also fumbled a ball while scrambling which luckily bounced out of bounds. Wilson also made a bad decision when he didn’t get outside the tackle box to throw the ball away costing the Badgers a safety.

Wisconsin RB Montee Ball Having a Huge Season, Draft Stock Pointing Way Up

One of my favorite running backs in all of college football was up to his usual tricks on Saturday afternoon, and that back is Wisconsin bruiser Montee Ball.

Ball is a big, powerful runner who has proven to me over the course of this season that he’s not just a short yardage back, but a fantastic athlete who can make plays all over the field. Against Indiana, he showed his athletic ability in spades, rushing for 142 yards and three touchdowns, catching a pass for 46 yards, and throwing a 25 yard touchdown pass to–who else–quarterback Russell Wilson.

He averaged over 10 yards per rush and had a big 54 yard run, which is a career high. Ball doesn’t have blazing speed, but he is quick to hit the hole and has great vision, burst, and power. He also has a nose for the end zone, scoring 16 touchdowns already this season, building off of a six game stretch last year where he had 15 touchdowns to finish the season.
