I’m mad at myself. I made several phone calls this morning around the league trying to find out more about this kid, because he was way off radar screens. Matter of fact, he wasn’t invited to the combine. I did no tape work on the kid whatsoever because he was not listed as a draftable player. So here he is out of nowhere, starting in the nickel package, making plays, prominent on special teams — I couldn’t be happier for this kid. I’m going to spend the next couple days trying to figure out who this kid is, why he didn’t get drafted, what did I miss, what did other teams miss. He’s a kid I’m really enjoying watching.”

That was what NFL Network analyst and NFL Draft guru Mike Mayock said prior to the Denver Broncos-New York Jets Thursday night matchup, and rookie cornerback Chris Harris hasn’t turned back since then.

The Broncos signed Harris as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas when the lockout ended, so he was already at a disadvantage having not even gotten a look as an undrafted kid coming out of a school not exactly known for, well, football in general.

Add on to that that Harris was a 5’9″ ‘safety’ prospect according to NFL Draft Scout and the 30th ranked free safety to boot, there was really no reason for Mayock to evaluate this guy unless he was watching some Big 12 wide receiver, right?

As a redshirt junior, Griffin displayed all the tools you look for in a franchise quarterback. He is poised, intelligent, insanely accurate, clutch, and he has a heck of an arm. For a majority of the season, Griffin III has been a Heisman candidate, and he actually came away with the first annual NFL Draft Expert Heisman Award, which was voted on by some of the most well-known and best NFL Draft experts on the web. One of the things that I love the most about Griffin is his versatility. Like I mentioned before, he had a historic season in 2011 in terms of accuracy, but not only that, he has track star speed. He is an elite dual-threat quarterback and if he were Cam Newton’s size, there wouldn’t be any question in my mind he would be the top overall prospect in this entire draft. He makes good decisions, he has a strong arm, and he can make every NFL throw. Unlike other quarterbacks with his rare speed, Griffin likes to win games out of the pocket, and he’s extremely comfortable as a pocket passer. He’s still not experienced in a “pro-style” offense, but the kid is already in graduate school and has aspirations of going to Law school someday.

Everyone knows its easy to be labeled as “ready to contend” for a conference title but to actucally do it is a whole other endeavor of its own proportion. After last years 9 win season and a share of the Big XII South title the Aggies are poised and ready to prove this year that they belong. The Aggies look to reclaim a Big XII chamionship.

With the return of Jeff Fuller this task isn’t by any means a given but did indeed increase their chances to do so. Standing at 6’4″, Jeff Fuller is the Texas A&M all time leader in receiving touchdowns. Along with being projected by many as one of the top three NFL ready receivers in this next years draft class, Fuller looks to become the Aggies all-time receptions leader once the season begins needing only twelve receptions to do so.

On defense the Aggies lost Von Miller to the NFL but second year defensive coordinator Tim Deruyter is up to the task of replacing Miller’s production from last year. Coach Deruyter was able to turn the Aggie defense around and get them back on track almost reminescent of the days when the defense was known as the “Wrecking Crew”. Von Miller’s presence will be missed.

Expectations are high for Aggie fans and players in College Station and with 18 returning starters the Aggies are looking for more and are looking to “Prove it”. The Aggies are predicted by many to be a top 10 team coming into this years college football season. Head Coach Mike Sherman has the team this spring buying into this seasons motto “Prove it!”.

Last year the Aggies finished the season by winning six in a row, including wins over Oklahoma and Texas. It had been along time since A&M had a season like that in College Station in quite some time. The Aggies did end the season on a sour note losing to LSU in the Cotton Bowl by a score of 41-24. There is no doubt that Texas A&M will build on last seasons great run and even the team defeat in the Cotton Bowl. Possibly using it for motivation and a stepping stone to a BCS bowl game in 2012. Asperations for the team along with goals by team members themselves are the highest they have been in years and all with good reason.

With the Texas Longhorn spring game coming & then going many questions still are clearly apparent for fans this year. Many analysts have broken down the play of the four QBs vying for pecking order on the depth chart & many more bloggers than analysts having analyzed the very vanilla more run oriented play calling in an attempt to make an accurate record prediction on the Horns 2011 season. Even without top RB recruit Malcolm Brown not due in Austin until the fall an emphasis on the run game was grossly apparent. RB Fozzy Whitaker was hurt in the early stages of the spring game which is really a surprise to no one at this point in his college career.

The Panthers have one of the toughest decisions to make in a long time for a team with the number one spot. In the end, the Panthers get a guy who quite possibly could be the next Julius Peppers. Ever since Peppers has left, the Panthers have not been the same team. They have a chance to get back to the basics and concentrate on defense with Bowers. The QB position is in flux as well, but there just is not a QB worth the first pick of this draft. The Panthers, without a 2nd Round choice, will need to make a splash with this pick and better know exactly what they are getting.

Denver Broncos-Robert Quinn, North Carolina

Now that John Fox is aboard, the Broncos will not be a team that other teams pad there stats with – Fox will add some fight to this team. With a guy like Robert Quinn, the Broncos can build around him like he is cornerstone figure in what they want to do there. Fox is no dummy, and will implement a 4-3 that will be playoff worthy in two or three seasons. Patience right now is the motto in the mile high city.

Buffalo Bills-Cam Newton, Auburn

The Bills’ have not been known for their genius draft picks the last three years. Aaron Maybin has been a complete bust from the OLB position. Another player who was a head-scratcher was the drafting of C.J. Spiller of last year’s draft. I just don’t get it – they have the best running back that no one has heard in Fred Jackson, not to mention that they spent a 1st rounder four years ago in Marshawn Lynch. I don’t think they know what they are doing up there, but they have to get a franchise QB, and that will be a start.

Cincinnati Bengals-Blaine Gabbert, Missouri

It looks like Carson Palmer is serious about his threat to be traded or retire. He has his house in Cincy on the market as we speak. With all that going on, the Bengals have no other choice but to prepare for next season without a starting QB. Blaine Gabbert could be just what they need in Cincy. We all know that Carson Palmer was not getting the job done anyway, so the organization could already be planning life without Palmer. IMO this is the best move for Cincy right now.

Arizona Cardinals-Tyron Smith, USC

I am actually going out on a limb with this pick, but think about it. Donavan McNabb lives in Arizona so why would he not play for the Cardinals? If this happens, I could see a reach here for a future LT. Levi Brown just has not lived up to his billing as a 1st round pick from a couple of years ago. Tyron Smith got injured at the combine, but all his intangibles are there. He weighed in at 307, has a crazy wing span, and 11 inch hands. The Cardinals are in dire straits to find an LT.
