The Cleveland Browns appear to have finally nailed a first-round pick in the NFL Draft, more importantly, the first overall pick, by drafting Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett.

Myles Garrett was the consensus top prospect in this year’s class and has the opportunity to make an immediate impact as a rookie. Today, the Browns signed their top pick to his NFL rookie deal, much to the excitement of Browns fans.

Garrett, who will wear No. 95 for the team, signed his contract to Garrett’s song of choice, “Kiss From a Rose” playing in the background. Garrett’s deal is a four year rookie contract worth $30.4 million with a $20.25 million signing bonus.

The Browns tweeted out a video of Garrett putting pen to paper this morning, featuring Seal’s hit song.

With Garrett signing his contract that means the Browns have now signed six of their ten draft picks, only Deshone Kizer, Jabrill Peppers, David Njoku, and Caleb Brantley, who was recently cleared of his battery charge.

The team and fans alike should be excited to have their franchise defensive cornerstone finally locked up, and with no holdout.

Garrett is a terror off the edge who racked up 141 tackles, 47 tackles for loss, 31 sacks, seven forced fumbles, five passes defended, and an interception in 34 games.

Garrett had difficulties with ankle and foot injuries in College Station in his final season that limited him to 33 tackles and 8.5 sacks, his least productive season.

The Browns should expect to see a better version of him this year, barring the same injuries nagging him the whole season. Garrett’s presence will allow the rest of the Browns lineman to see less attention which will open things up for Carl Nassib, Emmanuel Ogbah, Desmond Bryant, and Danny Shelton to feast in Gregg Williams’ new defensive front.

Exciting things are brewing in Cleveland, their coaching staff is bringing an entirely new philosophy into the organization, and the analytical front office is on the same page as the old school coaching staff.
