2017 NFL Mock Draft: How could some big trades shake up the entire first round of this year’s draft? What quarterbacks will be taken in the top 10?

Myles Garrett, DE. Texas A&M. Cleveland Browns. 1. player. 53. Despite all the flirtation with Mitch Trubisky at the top overall slot, the Browns ultimately make the correct decision and take Myles Garrett here. Garrett has the potential to be a game-changer for their young defense and a cornerstone piece of the franchise moving forward.

San Francisco 49ers. 2. player. 42. John Lynch making his first selection as a general manager in the NFL takes the relentless Solomon Thomas, one of the most dangerous weapons on the defensive line in this year’s draft class. While some worry Thomas doesn’t have a solidified position, the 49ers could team him up with DeForest Buckner and Arik Armstead to form a nice young trio of defensive linemen to build around.. Solomon Thomas, DL. Stanford

57. There has been plenty of talk about the Chicago Bears using their top selection on Clemson quarterback DeShaun Watson, and that could very well happen. But passing on someone like Jamal Adams at this slot could be a major mistake. Ryan Pace has done his due diligence on quarterbacks in this draft, and he’s bought himself a year with Mike Glennon. The Bears could also wait and try and trade back into the first round to get Watson later on.. Jamal Adams, S. LSU. Chicago Bears. 3. player

52. After spending their biggest free agent assets on Calais Campbell and Malik Jackson over the past two seasons, the Jaguars further fortify their defensive front here by taking Jonathan Allen, the disruptive force from Alabama who seemed unblockable at times these past couple of years.. Jonathan Allen, DL. Alabama. Jacksonville Jaguars. 4. player

TRADE: The Cleveland Browns trade pick no. 12 overall to the Tennessee Titans, along with picks 52 and 65 to get the fifth overall pick. With that selection, the Browns take Ohio native Mitch Trubisky, the quarterback they’ve been eying this whole process. This is a deal that makes a lot of sense since the Titans are trying to move down, and the Browns have the picks to make it happen. If Cleveland wants to recoup some of those picks, they could also trade out of the 33rd overall selection, one of the most valued picks in the draft.. Mitchell Trubisky, QB. North Carolina. Cleveland Browns. 5. player. 53

Ohio State. New York Jets. 6. player. 30. This would be a bit of a surprising pick, but the word on the street is NFL teams are more concerned about Marshon Lattimore’s injury history than we’ve previously considered. Conley is an ascending prospect with great feet and length who could be a star cornerback sooner than later. And thus begins the Jets’ defensive backfield rebuild.. Gareon Conley, CB

Los Angeles Chargers. 7. player. 13. The Chargers have been sitting here picking Malik Hooker since they were officially slotted seventh overall. Missing Eric Weddle last year, the back end of the Chargers’ secondary was pretty awful. They have a good defense otherwise, so getting one of the draft’s premiere playmakers on the back end makes sense.. Malik Hooker, S. Ohio State

player. 87. Everything we’re hearing at this point seems to point to Christian McCaffrey being the Panther’s pick here, regardless if Leonard Fournette is still on the board. McCaffrey’s versatile skillset and ability to be moved around the field like a chess piece are the main reasons why he will become Cam Newton’s favorite new toy.. Christian McCaffrey, RB. Stanford. Carolina Panthers. 8

15. TRADE: The New Orleans Saints trade pick no. 11 to the Cincinnati Bengals, along with pick no. 103 to move up and select Mahomes, their quarterback of the future. With two first round picks, the Saints have the flexibility to move up and get the guy they want here, and Mahomes’ skill set is one of the best we’ve seen coming out. Going to a place where he can learn from Drew Brees and Sean Payton in an offense that likes to air it out is a great fit for the Texas Tech star.. Patrick Mahomes, QB. Texas Tech. New Orleans Saints. 9. player

16. After losing Stephon Gilmore in free agency, the Buffalo Bills get a nice little steal here after the Saints jumped them for a quarterback they may covet. Lattimore isn’t a bad consolation prize, as he’s one of the most athletic players at his position in a very deep class.. Marshon Lattimore, CB. Ohio State. Buffalo Bills. 10. player
