The primary waves of free agency have passed. Now the real 2017 NFL mock draft season begins and the accuracy is sure to be sharper.

While there will be no change at the #1 pick moving forward, the adjustments teams have made thanks to new roster additions certainly created some chaos on draft boards. Glaring needs have become huge strengths and vice versa. As always the quarterbacks dictate much of the action but now several franchises that were inactive before are suddenly forced to go on the move in order to get what they need. Just how drastic a change is it?

Observe.

1. Cleveland Browns

Don’t be fooled by the noise heard from “sources.” The Browns are not taking a quarterback with the #1 overall pick. They are taking Myles Garrett. This team has a responsibility to get the absolute best players they can. They were 1-15 last season. This team is not a quarterback away from a title. The focus must remain on stockpiling talent and Garrett is hands down the most gifted player in this class. An instant 10-sack per year pass rusher that can alter an entire defense.
Big enough to play defensive end. Fast enough to play linebacker (or safety even). Smart enough to study in-depth about dinosaurs. Come on. It’s a no brainer. In truth the Browns haven’t had a franchise pass rusher since the franchise was renewed in 1999. It’s not any coincidence their defenses have been mostly average to below average across that span. It’s finally time the team did something about it and they have the tool for the job.
. DE.
